Got an email from DelhiImmigration asking for IMM5669 form and Military Service Record.
Email came at Feb 05, 2017 at 2:23 AM but date to submit was Feb 04, 2017

Anyways uploaded the requested forms using CIC My account, and hope for best

As rightly said by IndoCanadian above, Social Service check is done to ensure that you are not receiving any sort of government funded amount and which includes E.I, Disability, Child Welfare, or any other social program benefits delivered by either Provincial or Federal Government. When they do check for social service benefit issuance, they get report for any and all social benefits that were delivered to the sponsor applicant (and co-signer if applicable). Even if someone is on maternity leave, it is also disclosed in the details. However, my assumption is that CIC will not account for genuine benefits like Maternity or Disability.

Not pointing at anyone specific but in general, many people abuse the social programs by providing counter-factual information and showing low incomes and/or medical conditions to avail social benefits. This check is to ensure that you as a sponsor is not taking any such benefits.

Just to de-bunk any confusion that may arise from this response- EI is NOT considered social assistance, no matter if maternity, regular or disability benefits. While it may be reported, it will not affect your application negatively.

Where did you you find find info...I was thinking only certain EI like maternity leave are exempted based on info that I read before...in cic website.

Hi guys.

My in-laws got passport request today.
All process took a little bit more than an year.
We are from 2016 Puralator batch. Got SA at the end of July, med and police clearance request at August, 10. Send all back at the beginning of October.

Visa office is Ankara.
Just wanted to share with our information and bring some positive feeling while you are waiting good news for your relatives.
Wish all of you good luck and finishing of your sponsorship processes too asap.

How they sent PPR message? Through CIC account or separate email? Last month I got message from CIC for medical,Police certificate and RPRF. The issue is the email which they mentioned in the letter is not mine. So I requested through IRCC web form to change the email ID.But I didn't get any confirmation from them. Please advice..

Guys got SA by email yesterday Feb 3rd and file has been transferred to Ottawa. Hopefully everyone who is waiting for SA gets through this. Now lets hope everything goes smooth and gets PR soon. Thanks

Hi Everyone, Happy New Year!

The background check has been in progress since Nov. 24(or 25 or o6). I haven't received PPR yet.

When I click "submitted documents" on MyCIC, it says "replacement overdue" for police certificate which, it says, is required to upload by Nov. 21, 2016.
I didn't upload any documents because I sent PCCs on Oct. 12. I called CIC and asked them if I needed to upload PCC again on MyCIC since it was still showing 'documents required' even a while after I emailed our PCCs. She confirmed that they received the documents by email and nothing else was required at the moment and I didn't have to do anything.

Does anyone have the same message under "submitted documents" on MyCIC? I've been waiting for PPR for about two and a half months since the status changed to "background check in progress". Is this too long? Should I have uploaded them??..I'm hoping to get PPR this month..

Any ideas..?

In MyCIC how is everyone uploading documents (PCC/IME/RPRF Confirmation etc)? After clicking "View Submitted Applications", I do not get an option to upload any document. All it says is, "There are no required documents for this Online Application."

I linked my Parents' application on MyCIC on Feb 6. However, I received PCC & IME request on Feb 3. Is that the reason for not being able to upload any documents?

Also, in my "Account Messages", I do not see any mention of the PCC/IME/RPRF Request.

We received passport requests for my parents this morning. Visa Office: New Delhi 5k batch
Since my parents are here in Canada and I had changed the mailing address to Canada- we can submit passports to Ottawa CPC!

Will update the spreadsheet shortly!

Guys how long does it takes once your file is transferred to Ottawa office? I can't access spreadsheet otherwise would have checked it. Thanks

Based on the SS, a total of 139 2016 apps have been transferred to Ottawa out of which 86 have received IME/PCC/RPRF request. And the average waiting time to get this request from the time the file was transferred is 117 days (Ottawa only). The quickest was 28 days and the longest has been 239 days.

Hi,

This is for my uncle from India. His application was submitted on Jan 4th 9:43 , 2016 am Purolator batch form his daughter. AOR was received in May 2016. After that no update on application. Just today 2/7/17, online status changed to "Decision Made" for SA. Till this time, our lawyer had not received any email but he may in two days or so. Hoping that file may get transfer to Ottawa since the application has only two people on it ;husband and wife (no children). How long it may take from here till issuing a visa approximately? Also, currently they both have super-visa for Canada . Do you think that if they come Canada in next 2 months and change their mailing address from India to Canada, so that the application gets processed faster? Any suggestions on this?
