my friend from PGP 2014 got a letter that she approved like a sponsor and her case went to Ottawa

Hold on, but why did this case go to Ottawa? I thought it should go to the local visa office once the first stage (sponsor approval) is completed. I would also want that my parents' case went to Ottawa instead of their local VO in Ukraine....

Does anybody know why the case would go to Ottawa instead of the local visa office? Maybe the person is here in Canada at that time? (on super visa or regular visitor visa?).
Thanks for any information.

Please find the post from Rossei below...or refer to page 270...

So far I found that having dependents in the PR application is the major factor that makes the transfer to LVO (home country). Otherwise, it stays here in Ottawa. Parents visiting here on any visa is a minor thing in this case.

To elaborate, CIC will transfer the case to LVO when it demands documents which are normally issued in home country. If it requires less documents (i.e. single parent), there is a good chance CIC will keep it at Ottawa. The latter will/may be processed faster as well for obvious reasons.

Call 1-888-242-2100 and wait for the ivr to read out the initial message about high call volume and choose the menu options accordingly in order to talk to an agent and if the system says "Due to high call volume the call can't be transferred", hang up and redial the number again and again till the system puts you on hold in order to talk to an agent.

And the Menu Options are as below...keep dialing until you are placed in the queue to talk to a CIC call center agent...

CIC Phone#: 1-888-242-2100 (Menu Options: 2,1,3,0)...

Guys...anyone got their ECAS activated or AOR recently? My CC was charged on 15th...Purolator 9:43 batch of 4th Jan...still waiting for both ECAS and AOR...

All these days when i was trying to check the application status online it would tell me that no information is available. I tried it today, it is showing the status of my citizen ship application which I could never see before when my application was actually getting processed. The status says Decision made and when I click on it, it says We started processing your application in 2013. I don't understand why does it say started processing instead of saying granted citizenship. No additional information around parents sponsorship even though the option selected to check application status was sponsorship.

Same here. Still shows my Wife's application status 'In progress' when I login...doesn't show 2016 PGP application.
May be it takes time to update?

Got a question about address change. I am moved tomorrow and already changed that under ECAS. Is that enough or do I have to give them a call? I haven't got AOR email or any letter so far.

Got AOR on the 9th of this month and my ECAS is still not activated. CIC is taking their sweet time it seems. Either ways, no point in worrying as they wont be processing anything else on these applications for a long time.

However I still check this thread once a day :p.

In the FIRST phase CC charging was from January07 to February 02. While issuance of AOR was from January 17 to February12. While in SECOND phase CC charging was from March05 to April05. But AOR is issued in very few cases. Let us hope everything goes at a right time.
