Only way to get the passport back from India to any other country is ' someone need to carry' with a authorization letter. No courier company will send passports across the border (This is law in India).

Did you show the letter to passport office which you got from CIC. Then you will have a proof that you need to renew the passport.

In worst case scenario if the passport office does not want to give you a new passport than ask the PP office to give you in writing like a letter stating that they will only issue a new PP only when 6 months left for expiry and then send that letter to CIC as a response to their email stating your childs PP request.

I have experienced the same issue when I asked the PP office for police clearance certificate.

Hi all

I have a problem guys hope u all help me. I recieve an email today from cic newdelhi stating that " your child passport photo does not meet his current appearence please provide us a fresh passport and send it back with all passports togather by 03/28/2012."

This is because my child pp photo is more than 3 years old. But when i go to pp office they refuse to accept pp of child coz it is valid upto 2014 they say office will accept pp befor 6 month from expire date.thats why i send it as it is.

I dont recieve our pp back from embassy. So please help me what can i do now?

Dear GSM,

You should take the print of mail message of CHC and approach to your respective Pass Port Office and try make an appointment with Passport Officer directly. Give him/her full explanation about your case in writing. definitely you will come out with some solution.

You can also get the pp renewed if its lost or damaged......they cannot refuse to give you a new pp if the old one is damaged...one of my friend got his pp replaced when the last page of his pp was torn.

so you can consider these 2 options as well.

Yes, you have to give a authorization letter to the person who will be carrying your passport.

I have a question ...after how many days your parents received the passport, from the day it was received at CHC new delhi?

Its been long time i haven't visited the web. Anywaz congrats to those fellows who got PR within last month. For me following is showing up on CIC web-

We received your application for permanent residence on November 1, 2011.

We started processing your application on February 1, 2012.

Medical results have been received.

RECENTLY I GOT AN email FROM CIC asking for my passport submission but One weired thing which has happened is that I got 3 emails. First email requested Passport submission, But SECOND email says DO NOT SUBMIT your passport and then THIRD email says "Delhi (Immigration) Recalls its previous email".
It's confusing but regardless I am going to submit my passport. Now a days I am in India so I would go personally to submit PP.
Just wondering that has it happened with anybody else ?
As per my knowledge CIC Delhi usually sends letter by mail ( thats what happened with all my friends who applied from Canada ), that's why I am also surprised about getting passport request via email.
Though it's a legit email for sure !

I would really appreciate if someone can help me...
I had applied for my pr through pnp process...at the last stage of the process the cic asked for my my passport...i sent my passport through ups and I got confirmation...my parents recieved my passport withe the immigrant visa but are unable to mail it out....if any one kindly help me with a suggestion or a similar scenario faced with a potential solution I would really appreciae it..... Thank you

The only option you are left with is that somebody brings your passport personally from India. Check out with your friends who are coming from India.
