Hey Dipan - I just realized that I could be in some deep trouble here (or atleast I may get into one) -

I am in Toronto now on OWP (as u know). I had submitted PCC in Nov 2012 while submitting to CIO, Sydney. Now, its Nov 2013. Still PPR+MR has not come. Now when these NDVO guys wake up to my case, after Nov 2013, then my PCC would've expired. So, will they tell me to take PCC from INdia?? Obviously, i cannot go to India just for PCC...!!! :( :(

Dont think, i can take here in Canada either since its only 3 weeks since i came here... (you need to take if u spent > 6 mths).....

What to do?? Extremely confused.... :(

Hope they pick my case before Nov 2013...

Hi Vineet,

I think that PCC's in India can be managed wout physical presence.

I applied for PCC's again for me and my wife last month from Delhi. My wife never went to apply for PCC, neither she went to collect it as i did all the procedure on her behalf. Also, the police team does not come at your address of residence for verification, they just check their database for any criminal record, i think.

I would suggest you can ask someone from your family to visit your area police station and enquire if an authority letter mechanism could work in your case.

Hope this helps!

Cheers,
S

Hi S - thanks for the msg. Yes, Police dont home for verification, but for initial application, we need to go to PSK (passport seva kendra). I am assuming its same everywhere in India. Didnt you apply via PSK? I think, there is no other way other than going to PSK and they will sure ask for the person as they take thumb impression, photo, etc in PSK (last time they did for me and wife).

Let me check, however. Thanks for the info, though.

Well your one family member should inquire to nearest police station for this. This will surely help you.

Hi Dipan - this has nothing to do with actual Police folks. First, one has to apply to PSK. Police comes later. Even last time also, I never met any cop nor anyone came to my house... the PCC came on its own.. but FIRST i had to go PHYSICALLY to PSK and apply.

I have sent mail to Delhi office... lets see if those ppl reply...

There are two methods of taking PCC.....one is by PSK and another is through ur District SSP office.......U may opt for second method...

Hi Vineet,

Physical presence of the person applying for the PCC is required, since they take your signatures and also click the photograph there itself and police verification is done if the verfication is not carried out at the time of issuing the passport otherwise they issue the PCC the same day, after checking their database. Anyway you can ask some of your family members to check, if some other option is available.
