Friends,

Post receipt of Medical Request on 8th Oct, i had booked an appointment for Max Medcentre in Panchsheel Park, understanding that all medical facilities in Delhi are equipped with e-medical facility. However, that was not the case, as i was told to know that Max Medcentre is not a e-medical facility and shall send reports through courier to the CHC, Delhi. Nevertheless, this does not delay much in receiving the reports by CHC.

The representative at the hospital told me that its better to go for courier facility as server issues have been experienced many times by hospitals while transmitting reports to CHC....

Following were the tests conducted for me and my wife individually:

1. VDRL Serum (RPR)
2. HIV Test (I and II)
3. Urine Dipstix Test
4. X-Ray PA/AP View
5. Doctors Consultation
6. Eye Check up
7. Blood Pressure
8. Weight and Height monitoring

The cost for each person for the above tests and consultation are Rs 3600. Following are the points to be considered at the day of the medicals:

1. Females should not be undergoing any periodic cycle at the day of the medicals
2. The consultant would ask you if you are having any disease and you are having any medicines: In our case, we were not having any medicines regularly, so we said NO.
3. The consultant asked us if you had suffered from any communicable disease like TB, Dengue, Malaria etc.
4. I confirmed going empty stomach on the day of the medicals and the hospital representative confirmed empty stomach is not required.

I underwent a major spine surgery in 2003, and have implants in my spinal cord. For this, i got a certificate from my surgeon and a recent X-ray stating everything is fine at this point in time. I had told the consultant at the hospital regarding the same and he mentioned surgery on my medical papers.....not sure if this would delay or impact processing of my application......fingers crossed.... but i had to tell them the truth....

Documents to be taken along with you:

1. Medical form of all the applicants (Form IMM 1017)
2. Copy of Passports (Old and New)
3. Original Passports (Old and New)
4. 5 Photographs each (Photo Specifications same as the main application).***Photographs are not required if you are getting your medicals done through a hospital which has e-medical facility. However, please cross check with the hospital representative before you go for the medicals.
5. Cash or Credit Card for payment of fees (Your preferred mode of payment)

I reached the hospital at 11am and was the second person in Q for the medical process. Thus, got free 1.30 pm. Suggest to take an appointment early. The Doctor allocated to us was DR R S Mishra, he spent maximum 3 minutes each with me and my wife asking general questions (stated above).

I hope this information helps all my fellow forum members and may god bless us all.

Siddharth Malhotra
