Thanks deepak and Raxch for ur valuable suggestions....

Raxch.... actually I havn't started shopping as of now. and moreover shopping is not a big problem. We could easily collect all the things in 2-3 days.....
I am planning my departure during 1st weekor 2nd of Dec. but the main problem is, to wrap-up everything here in India.
Let's see, which way the wind blows and how it all goes.......

regards....

Congrats. Status updated.

Congratulations!! to all who have received MRs n PPRs :) ... Good times awaiting guys, gear up for the fantasyland :)

Dec/Jan are peak winters in Canada, if possible travel in Feb when things start looking up. Everything is dead in these 2 months. All you could do is experience your 1st winters :)

People travelling from Amritsar, never take the Air India flight is all I can suggest. It has extremely uncomfortable seating, 2X5X2. Unfortunately if u land up in the middle row having 5 seats, you'll regret that journey for life. You guys are going for good, travel a good airline. Suggest you take domestic flight from Amritsar to Delhi as the road travel will exhaust you before the 30 hour flight. You will spend some money on the domestic flight but its worth the trouble saved as everyone will have lot of baggage and the anxiety :)

Its good to put in some extra money on domestic flight for the physical comfort and calm mind which will be very much required on ur long flight from Delhi to Canada. You could book your tickets from an agent, they usually are able to give good discounts. Confirm the baggage allowance when you book tickets. A word of caution, there are some flights which allow only 1 check-in bag and you have to pay $70 for any extra bag per passenger, eg. of this is Delta Airlines. British Airways, American Airlines etc allow 2 check-in baggage per passenger. Thus, please ensure the baggage allowance before you book tickets.

All the best guys and keep in touch even when u reach the land of opportunities :) ...Good Luck

Hope and wish for a better day with positive updates from NDVO..

Regards

Before strike it was taking 1.5 months to get 1st AOR from CIO and another 1.5 months 2nd AOR from NDVO. And as per current scenario of file processing it was taking around 2-3 months to get changed from "Application Received" to "In Process" after 2nd AOR.
Seniors please share your views.
