Yes, it is advisable to get the surname corrected through an endrosement and copy sent to the VO.
If no surname in the surname column that means your spouse does not have a surname and all documentation will be affected.
It is not very complicated, she is not changing her name, so no complicated affidavit stuff is needed. Just one form to make a correction so that her surname appears correctly in the surname column.

Q:- Is there any problem if the surname is not given in the Surname coulom on the Passport. I have same situation on My wife passport Surname is Not Given. but Surname is Attached with the First Name. Please Reply Guys I am Worried Now.

I had a similar situation when i was filling in the application. I checked with my lawyer and he said to put " NONE " for my spouse.
what did you mention in the application?

One of My Friend has the situation His Spouse Passport only Appears "Given Name" and Surname is blank Will he affected with this all. and He filled NONE in surname Coulom for Visa Application.and one more thing p. applicant’s passport’s Pincode is different from spouse’s passport’s pincode, will this affect or not…..

When did you Corrected your son's passport I mean Under TATA Authority system or Under Regional passport system.

I got correction made in passport of my son(on second page of passport) it should work I am told may be not need to get new passport
