Processing times: Permanent Residence — Economic classes
This information is updated quarterly and shows the time it takes to process an application after we receive a complete application package. The processing times for the Canadian Experience Class and Live-in Caregiver Class are based on how long it took to process 80 percent of all cases between April 1, 2012 to March 31, 2013. Processing times are subject to change.

Alert – Strike Action

The Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers (PAFSO) union is currently taking strike action. PAFSO union members responsible for processing visa applications have been walking out of offices in Canada and overseas.

Posted processing times for both temporary and permanent resident visa applications do not take into account work stoppages.


Anyone applying for a visa should anticipate delays and submit their application as far in advance as possible.

Contingency plans are already in place to ensure all offices remain open and are providing at least a minimum level of service. Priority will be placed on urgent humanitarian applications.

CIC continues to closely monitor the situation.

i applied in July, 2012 under GS , got AOR in Jan 2013, Still waiting for sponsor's interview................
i also apply for study visa in DEC 2011, BUT, got refusal, then i applied to MPNP in July 2012.
DOES IT AFFECT THE MPNP PROCESSING? i think that this reason may causes delay in processing.
, plz suggest me, do they process application alphabeticallyyy

No update.. It is two months since i had my
Medicals..it is really frustrating and you can't
Plan anything

Got LOA on 08 March
25 March file received by CIC
26 April DD enchased
08 May AOR from CIC
25 June AOR from NDVO

How long it would take for medical request?
