I know it seems hard sometimes but remember one thing. Through every dark night, theres a bright day after that. So no matter how hard it get, stick your chest out, keep ya head up.... and handle it.

i stayed in US for 8 yrs

Hi Pals,
I'm a FSW backlog nominee with ND as my VO. I recieved my 1st AOR this month and now wating for next AOR and next steps.

Now, I may need to travel to US with my family. Is there any cons of doing this? One of my friends, who was an immigrant some years back, has suggested me against it as I may be getting 2nd AOR & MR etc.

But this process is taking forever and ever. Already more than 8 years and going by exp. of other people, I'm loosing faith in canadian immigration. So, I don't want to loose a good opportunity. But at the same time I also don't want to loose PR after waiting so long. And, I may not have a choice also as the work requirement is there. So, asking for suggestions.

Has anybody been in a similar situation?
Do I need to inform CIC about my travel? I'll be traveling from my current employer. Travel may be for 2-3 months but may go upto 1 yr also.
Where can I get the MR done?
When do we need to send passports to VO and how long do they take to return passports?

Also as an aside can someone tell me what tests are conducted for MR?

Appreciate your help in making an informed decision.

Hi Can,

Going by the current trend, It may take another 5-6 months to get your PPR request. So I think until your PPR request is not
turned up, it doesn't matter if you are in India or abroad. The medicals can be done anywhere and should be sent
to NDVO. So you can plan to be abroad for this timeframe. It would be advisable to be in India to submit your passports.

Regarding medicals - Xray ( for adults), blood and urine samples to test HIV, sugar etc., eye check up and small consultation with panel physician.

So don't extend your trip beyond 6 months, otherwise they may ask for Police clearance again.

regards
P
