Good Morning! Sorry sa late update ng Landing experience ko.. Was so busy with registering for manitoba start, SIN, health card, opening an account, enrolling my daughter sa child benefit and a lot of touring. Anyway, we had a PAL flight connecting to Winnipeg. Sobrang stressful ng byahe namin kasi we have a 2 year old with us. Plus 6 baggages and a couple of hand carried items. Whew! tapos sobrang init pa ng NAIA 2! tagatak ang pawis namin. Bale nagcheck in kami sa counter 64, at may form na pinafill up for filipino passport holders (red ang color). after mafill up, dumeretso kami sa right side sa dulo, facing the counter. nandon ang payment counter ng travel tax and ang counter ng Bureau of Immigration. you just have to hand them your passports and yung red form. after noon, hinanap namin ang gate namin sa left side naman sa dulo gate 6 and 7 upon entering the 2nd screening. naghanap kami ng malamig na pwesto para magpatuyo ng pawis namin sa sobrang init. after a few hours, pinaalis nanaman kami for checking of document papers. syempre hindi ko narinig ang vancouver, toronto lang ang pinapila nila kaya di kami pumila agad. Eh ang flight pala, vancouver-toronto, magkasama. Napadpad kame sa dulo at pumila. Wala man lang fast lane, eh may bitbit akong bata na matutulog. si hub naman tigakarga ng mga hand carry namin. so pawis nanaman dahil sa init plus instant musclea agad! pila ng pila hanggang sa turn na namin. binigay ang passport ulit at chineck nila ang visa and ang picture sa passport at tiningnan ang mga mukha namin sabay bigay ng declaration form to fill out to hand in sa vancouver CBSA.
okay naman ang whole flight to canada. umalog alog ng konti pero tolerable naman. but na stress nanaman kami kasi, 2 hours delayed flight namin. ang flight namin dapat 3pm, 5pm something na kami nakaalis. from province to manila to YVR, lahat ng PAL flight na sakay namin delayed! nakakalola.... anyway, nakarating kami sa YVR around 1. 45pm. umuulan. blessing siguro for our safe flight. kaso ang flight to winnipeg 6. 30pm. diyos ko! nakakakaba... buti na lang may FAST LANE for seniors and with a child. ang galing! at salamat sa pinoy na tumulong para makapasok agad sa lane nayon. so hindi na kami pumila sa napakahabang line for presenting our passports, copr, and declaration form. ok naman ang CBSA officer na nag entertain sa amin. first screening ito. after niya markahan ang form, he said welcome to canada! and instructed to get the baggages sa carousel 21 and proceed to immigration. this will be the 2nd screening.
after getting all our stuffs, we immediately went to immigration. a chinese girl with a nose pierce (friendly) informed us a little infos on what to do after arriving to manitoba. she gave me a number for queing. mga past 4pm na kami natapos kasi 2 lang ang nag service for immigrants. tapos puro chismis pa sila and 5 lang kami na nandoon. akala ko kasi sa pinas lang meron non eh. nag antay kami at pinalaro na lng si baby sa mini playground sa loob ng immigration para hindi ma bore. actually, hindi na nila ako inasikaso (yung nagchismisan). madali lang niya (new CBSA officer) prinocess ang papers namin. he asked me a couple of questions.
1. are you planning to stay permanently in canada?
2. have you ever been to canada?
3. are you married?
4. have you ever been previously married?
5. do you have other dependents?
yan lang mga tinanong. tapos hiningi na ang address and number kung saan ipapadala ang pr card.
On going ang orientation/seminar ko ngayon with Manitoba start. Very informative talaga so dapat mag register. So far wala pang work. Pero on Monday will submit may resume to my workshop coach. Mag aapply kasi ako. Sana mag ka work ASAP.
Thanks for the detailed sharing. Goodluck sa job hunting & other new adventures? Meron ka kasabay Manitoba START na taga-forum? Hope you can also share about the training, if me time ka. By the way, allowed bang dalhin children during orientation? Mahal kasi babysitting, di ba? Unless alternate sched kayo hubby?
