hi tabs,

have you been to DFA already? my stamped date will be tomorrow, march13, 2014. we are going there from laguna and hoping that we can get it on time :(

Yup, I got my LTO already. So, you decided to do it yourself huh?

I think it's better to go on the 14th, just to make sure that your papers are there from LTO.

Double check the papers, I had to do mine 2x just because they made a spelling mistake.

The guard will show you where to drop that paper LTO gave you. Then you wait for your name to be called to check the documents. When it is okay, you pay at the cashier. Then you wait again until they call your name. The signboards states that it will only take 25 mins for the whole process. But, it actually took 1 hour when they called me to check the documents. When I returned, I didn't need to do the first process, I can just go straight to pay. But I again waited for 1.5 hours to get the authenticated documents.

Good luck....

I have an important question.
I applied for MPNP with my common law partner(he is the principal applicant).
What if we got married after Visa is being issued and fly to Canada, would there be problems with our PR application?

Looking forward to hear a response. :)

Essentially, once you have declared the common-law relationship at the nomination application (i.e. MPNP/Provincial) and your partner has identified you as a spouse/partner under the application filed at MPNP, then you are included in the nomination. If your partner has received your LoA/nomination letter, that should show also who are included in the nomination. With that LoA and onwards to filing the PR application at Federal level (i.e. CIO/CIC), you are included as a spouse (under common-law).

Should you get married, then your status changes from being under common-law to that of being married, which does not have a major impact to the application as the spouse remains the same, and the partnership is still the same, albeit just a change in the nature of the partnership. There is no change in the family members (you) that was included in the application. However, it is still a status change, so down the line, if both of you decide to get married while the application is being processed, then likely you will have to inform the VO, and be required to submit proof of the marriage (Marriage Certificate). Why would this be important? - it all boils down to a change in your identity data - should your name change (i.e. taking the surname of the spouse) then it will have to be reflected in their records as this will have seen in all official documents regarding your residence status (PR cards, CoPR etc.)

Hello everyone! I'm currently preparing all the docs needed for my MPNP application but there's a problem causing delay. I already contacted Manitoba Immigration through phone and e-mail but there's still no answer. I hope someone can help me here so I can submit my application immediately. :(

A friend will endorse my application but I failed to provide the recommended 10,000 CAD on my bank account. I only have 6,000 CAD and to resolve this, my sponsor will attach an Affidavit of Financial Support together with her bank statement on her SP2. Does anyone here tried this method already? Will I be rejected because I didn't reach the 10,000 CAD settlement fund? And my sponsor has only 10,000CAD on her bank too but she has a full-time and part-time job. Please help me. :(
