I have been scheduled to attend CIIP on 10-11 Feb and COA on 12 Feb (3 consecutive days). Anyone here who has the same schedule?

I hope there wont be an issue in your name "Ma" not having a dot. We're on the same boat as my name which appears in my birth cert is Ma., with that period. There's really no option for NBI to do this as all my clearances in the past shows the same.

Yes, in the past the Ma. has always been clear and understood as short form of Maria and no questions asked about it. Now, it's becoming an issue. :o :o :o

Anyway, I submitted it to CEM, mentioned to them that I cannot get that dot and see if it will cause any further issue.

Sooo... i got my passport back last Jan. 29. less than two weeks nung pinasa ko sa embassy, thank GOD! and nashock na ang bilis nakabalik. now i'm looking for a flight to MB this MAY. i got some concerns

1. Ung wife and son ko kasi susunod nalang after me. siguro mga Oct pa sila pupunta. Do i have to inform the canadian embassy about it?

any help will be appreciated.

THank you guys!!

Wow, another 14 days waiting time. Congratulations on your visa. I hope mine will be the same and no more further requirements needed.

I cannot answer most of your queries as I am only on PPR stage, but don't forget to go to CIIP, it's not mandatory but very useful. COA will give you a lot of tips on what you should do before going to Canada and CIIP is more specific on employment.

The advice I find very important from COA are:

(1) If you drive, try to get a red ribbon for your driver's licence to authenticate it. I heard it will reduce your examinations and waiting time to get a licence there.

(2) Have a dental check up and treatment here in PH, because it's expensive there and it's not covered by your health card. You may get dental as part of your benefits when you get a permanent job. So, it will take time before you get covered. Same if you wear spectacles, have an eye check-up and probably get new spectacles.
