They can still join the school year even if they arrive late - there are immigrant children who join mid-school year. Having been schooled in international schools before, and having good command of English, they will not have a hard time adjusting.

Most likely, they probably will get bored the first few days :).

Pag nag "DM" po ba ay makakatanggap ng notice from CEM?....email po ba?

thanks.

No notice for DM. Likely your visas and CoPRs are being queued for printing and stamping. As this is a Monday, likely your PPs and CoPRs may be scheduled to be sent to the courier within the week for delivery to the receipients.

Bringing in funds enough for your settlement is not that straightforward. There is a limit to which you can bring out of the PH and bring in funds to Canada without need for declaration. The links below should answer some of the questions on bringing in funds.

Prepare for your arrival:

Settling in Canada:

Crossing the Border with $1000 or More:

Bringing out Funds from the PH:

Personally, I brought in $10k in a combination of cash and traveller's cheques. Once I opened a bank account, I had the funds transferred from the PH. You will lose a bit in transaction fees. My other friends here actually brought manager's cheques/bank drafts that they used to open bank accounts here.

Now, some banks do have services for newcomers to actually apply for a bank account before landing - such that they can effect transfer of funds while they are still packing up to ready to fly to Canada and settle:
