Hi,
Any significant change in your information submitted with your application should be sent as an update to CEM/VO. A passport change, IMHO is a significant change - as the passport is technically our de-facto national identity document (we do not have any national ID or document) and is in almost every form in the application. Same with a status change (new child, marriage etc.), and or home address change, contact details change.....these are significant changes.

The passport numbers will be reflected in your issued CoPRs and visas - so you can send the update as soon as you are able to. Usually there are two instances when you can send the update:
- as soon as you receive the new updated passports - send off an update to CEM (much preferable)
- wait for PPR and in the Personal Biodata Sheet requested - include the new passport details along with your PPs (IMHO may add to processing days if it triggers some verification of the changes versus that which CEM/VO/CIC already has....)

As what liyapot mentioned, if you will be sending an update to CEM/VO just add in scanned copies of your new passports and include a note about the change.

salamat ng marami sa detailed reply....kudos:)

Hi,

You can start applying for your bank account even before landing.
http://www.scotiabank.com/ca/en/0,,6194,00.html

Here is the branch and ABM locator link for Scotiabank - http://maps.scotiabank.com/en/index.php
I see 20 locations in Toronto. http://maps.scotiabank.com/en/results.php?address=Toronto%2C%20ON%2C%20Canada&lat=43.653226&lng=-79.38318429999998&locationtypes=1

DDs and TCs are accepted. Just be wary of the fees - sometimes depending on the routing, the fees tend to be quite high. For more specific questions - you can use their help web site - http://www.scotiabank.com/ca/en/0,,1031,00.html

Hello Everyone

Its been a while that I haven't visited the forum, question to you group mates, anyone here that uses boxes instead of branded luggage's?
My worries, If I sealed it completely, do the airport customs will still open the boxes ( philippines > vancouver > calgary)

Please give me ideas please, thanks

Yup. sa mga nakatanggap ng passport with visa eh the canadian address will be added sa ecas.

Hi,

See here - http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/timeline-for-filipinos-submitted-pnppr-applctions-at-cio-t93206.0.html;msg2260407#msg2260407

Unless there is cause to check the contents of the boxes, customs does not require it to be opened. So follow what you have learned watching "Border Security" and make sure to declare.

At NAIA, usually the checked-in luggage (including boxes) will be weighed prior to checking them in, so if you are sure you fall under the weight limits, you can secure and close the boxes.

At Canadian customs, if your paperwork/declaration forms are all in order, then they speed you onwards.

Hi,

I am assuming here you came originally on WPs? And you and your wife had MEs in the course of your WP application?
When was that?

If you came on WPs, then the only logical explanation I can surmise on why you and your wife were not required MEs again is because both of you are already in the system by virtue of your first ME (on your WP) and your IME (on your PR application). There is a historical record now having had two MEs showing no conditions that may lead to inadmissibility. Your kids are not - their only record is the IME performed almost a year ago and having stayed in the PH, I can only surmise the VO or RMO deems the time elapsed between the first IME warrants a remed to make sure no conditions have manifested during that time that falls under either inadmissibility, or (and much more likely) - to make sure what is the correct medical surveillance code under which your children should be under when they enter the country.

See here:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/medic/assess/coding.asp

Now as you are in Canada, I would advise you to get your GCMS notes by making a request under the Privacy Act. This is free and can now be done online for Canadian citizens, PRs and/or an individual currently present in Canada. The GCMS notes will show you the current status of your application - getting them takes a month. This is helpful in seeing where in the processing cycle is your application.
