Hi,

These guys at this thread may be able to help you: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/for-pinoys-spousal-open-work-permit-to-canada-share-tayo-t70481.0.html

This thread is for provincial nominee applicants. :). Nevertheless, digressing (apologize for other thread poster for OT) - what is the nature of your OWP - spousal OWP or OWP gained under LIC?

If this is a SOWP then you will not need an exit clearance (or the OEC for workers), as the OWP is gained by eligibility as a spouse of a worker under NOC A, B and O classes. PH Immigration usually refers to this as a "Dependent's Visa/Permit" from our experience (my wife was previously under a SOWP), and no exit clearance is needed. What you need is a copy of your spouse's current WP and employment contract, for presentation at Immigration.

For OWP under LIC, unfortunately, I can't give you more details on this - look for wsongco in the threads, and she may be able to provide more info.

/all the best....

Helo ragluf, ask ko lang po f ever na change ung pasports namin same time sa MR, do we have to nform them/VO/CIC bout d changes? kc sa eMedical form namin, naka reflect ung old passport numbers...tnx po:)

Hi Ragluf,
Thank you for replying on the Exit Clearance inquiry for OWP. The thread you referred to showed that there is no need for an exit clearance on OWP because there is no job contract yet.
I am a provincial nominee - FSW Pilot Ontario and applied for OWP while my PR is still in process.
Thank you for your help!

The thread I referred you to is for SOWP - technically you were not under SOWP but got an OWP under the FSW Backlog reduction pilot programs. Note that you are asking if for exit clearance requirements for OWPs; this is a PH Immigration question. SOWPs/OWPs are currently treated at departure points as so-called "dependents visa" and no exit clearance requirements are needed to be presented. Generally, ALL workers or those holding a workers visa are required to have exit clearances given by POEA before they exit the country - it is the PH Immigration that checks for this. If you back read from the start of that thread - in the early days of the issuance of SOWPs, PH Immigration did not know how to treat this type of visa, and reverted to ask dependent's holding this visa if they secured OECs/exit clearances. It was only after a few months afterwards that PH Immigration identified this type of visa (SOWP) as not requiring the exit clearances and not to be treated as a regular worker visa.

OB 470 (for which you were eligible to get an OWP under the FSW Backlog reduction pilot program) is fairly recent (Nov 5, 2012) - and given the timelines, the first OWPs under this program may have been just released. It is with a note of caution that I advise you to please clarify with CEM/the issuing VO the concern that PH Immigration may not have been made aware yet on how to treat this type of visa - as with previous history with the SOWP, those issued first with these new "types" of visas may be asked by PH immigration for exit clearances. If your visa has an accompanying letter explaining what type of visa this is, and is LMO-exempt thus not requiring a job/work-contract you can use that to present to the airport/departure port if needed. Also, you can print off a copy of OB 470, plus ready your other documents showing you are a PR applicant eligible and issued an OWP under this OB 470.

Hi,
Any significant change in your information submitted with your application should be sent as an update to CEM/VO. A passport change, IMHO is a significant change - as the passport is technically our de-facto national identity document (we do not have any national ID or document) and is in almost every form in the application. Same with a status change (new child, marriage etc.), and or home address change, contact details change.....these are significant changes.

The passport numbers will be reflected in your issued CoPRs and visas - so you can send the update as soon as you are able to. Usually there are two instances when you can send the update:
- as soon as you receive the new updated passports - send off an update to CEM (much preferable)
- wait for PPR and in the Personal Biodata Sheet requested - include the new passport details along with your PPs (IMHO may add to processing days if it triggers some verification of the changes versus that which CEM/VO/CIC already has....)

As what liyapot mentioned, if you will be sending an update to CEM/VO just add in scanned copies of your new passports and include a note about the change.

/all the best...
