Hi ragluf,

My husband recently renewed his passport. Right now, we are just waiting for the PPR to come (we completed medical check-up and already paid the RPRF this month).

Do we need to inform the visa office of his most recent passport?

You seem to be very knowledgeable in things related to Canadian immigration, so I hope you can answer my query. Thanks in advance.

Yes, although it is not required, it is advisable. I think we discussed this before. See the earlier posts about this.

Read through the other posts before this so you get a better picture. I do advise to inform CEM/VO of any significant change in details included in the submitted application. They may not reply, but think of it as your still providing your 'presence' showing you are actively engaging them by communicating and corresponding when needed. One thing I learned during this whole process is that the power of regular correspondence - I use email for speedy communications and send a copy of the same via registered mail/courier. I do not expect them to reply back, but again, this sets a precedence of a trail of correspondence to them.

You are nearly there ... just a little bit more. You will still be able to make the nicer seasons of summer and fall in the country.

I mentioned before that the period between MR/RPRF/Add'l Docs --> PPR is one of the longest and hardest, as you are not in control of the results of your application - at this point, it is up to the evaluator/VO to make the decision. All you can do before this is to make sure you complied to all requirements requested of you and make your application complete as best as you can.

/cheers and hope and faith this will pass soon....

thanks ragluf!!

hello wat does ppv and copr means?

hi,

PPV - usually PassPort w/ Visa
CoPR - Confirmation of Permanent Residence

More acronyms in this old post - some of them may be outdated but it does help.

I agree. It would make sense to at least inform the VO of the change in passport.

Thanks ragluf.

question for those who received PPR..

just anticipating the requirements lang.. what are the requirements they need for this stage bukod sa passports?
thanks in advance ;D

Hi Ragluf,

What are the requirements for a US citizen to enter Canada?
My mother is a US citizen, planning to visit us here in the Philippines.
After that she wants to go with us in Canada once we will be issued
a canadian VISA.

By "enter" you mean visit? If for visiting - None. US Citizens/PRs are visa-exempt.

1. PP
2. Filled-up and signed Appendix A (updated personal details/bio data sheet)
3. Photographs (Appendix B - Photograph specifications) - although there are posts recently where they were not required to submit photos.
