anyone, help please...

i just received my PPR & RPRF today but VO is Manila and I have to send my PP to philippines. It shouldnt be like that cuz I am here already in canada. why the VO manila is asking this things to me instead other VO here in canada.. PLease anyone assist me on this... I really need to know. should I contact VO or email them to double check or is it like this that even im here is need to be send to philippine my PP.

Hi,

First, congratulations on getting your PPR!

It is like that. Your VO is CEM/Manila, even if you are in Canada, thus all correspondence will have to be sent to CEM.

I am also in Canada, and VO was also CEM, and sent our passports to Manila to have the visa stamped/affixed; they will send it back via courier. Same as others already in Canada that sent their passports to CEM and had it returned soon after.

Yes
when did you send it?
9/11/2012
and how long it will take to send back to you here in canada?
No fixed time, approx 3 weeks to ~1 month in my case - other peoples experiences vary

It is actually described in the PPR letter - COURIER COLLECT method - read through to the bottom of the PPR letter. Although we expected to pay the courier fees back, the PPs with the CoPR and visas were just returned with no other payment via DHL. So far I have not heard any other applicant who needed to pay the return courier fees.

The payment instructions specific to CEM are here: http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/philippines/visas/fees-frais.aspx . I cannot say for certain on online payment of RPRF as I did not use it personally, and thus not in a position to comment.

If there are delays in processing right now - well be advised:

"The Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers, which includes immigration officers, visa officers and political staff, has been in a legal strike position since last week."

Hello ragluf,

thanks for your help.

so means i dont need to pay air way bill to send it back to me. They will arrange the shipment back to me then its up to the courier company if i have to pay something once it comes to me.

one more thing, how long they will have your PP ion VO manila before they send it. I heard that it will take 90 working days before day retun. is it true? Have you got the PP back with visa stamp?

Hello ragluf,

by the time that you sent your PP to VO manila, how long did you waited to get it back are you already in canada befre you land?

As I mentioned the courier used typically is via DHL. And even if they said it is via "COURIER COLLECT" I have not been billed nor have I heard any other applicant asked to pay courier fees for the return of the passport.

one more thing, how long they will have your PP ion VO manila before they send it. I heard that it will take 90 working days before day retun. is it true? Have you got the PP back with visa stamp?

Please re-read the last section of your PPR letter - it may have sentences that says CEM will "endeavor to return the passports within 90 days". This is not a definite limit, as CEM has returned passports much earlier than 90 days. This is a range they (CEM) try to achieve in returning the passports. Longer than this range give you reason to contact CEM and ask them for details when they will return the PPs back - it has already passed "reasonable time" as they said within 90 days.

by the time that you sent your PP to VO manila, how long did you waited to get it back are you already in canada befre you land?

I received the PPs back after 1month and 1 week after sending the passports to CEM. It comes with the visa counterfoil (not a stamp as commonly mentioned here) affixed to the passport and with the CoPR.

As I mentioned in my earlier reply, it is different (varies) per applicant, location of the applicant in Canada may add to delays or may shorten the return period. And I am already in Canada when I received back my passport and made my landing here by going to the nearest US-Canada land border.
