Just send the new passport - make sure that appendix A is filled with details of the new passport. Also, add in an explanatory note on the new passport and add references, scanned copies of the old passport.

If there are no differences between the details in the info page of both passports (i.e. change in name, surname, etc.), then expect no issues.

One more thing, my husband renewed his passport. Do we have to inform CEM about the change or we will just send the new passport?

Not sure - kasi dinala ko sa Canadapost office ang application ko at sila ang nag-lagay ng return envelope and tracking stickers nung nag-apply ako ng TRV nun at kailangan ko ipadala ang PPs ko sa Ottawa a few years ago (before I got PR). Try mo dalhin sa pinakamalapit na post office para matulungan ka.

What if the MPNP nomination is expiring this month (and also NBI/police clearance is expiring) and there's still no update from the CIC on the application status? All the documents submitted were valid at the time of submission (Nov. 2014). Will this cause the application to be rejected?

I have a question again, kase meron sa isang thread na nag apply sya ng open wp pero denied sya kase not valid daw ung nomination nya kase expired but he got a file number and medical done, paid his rprf. Di ba dapat qualified na sya sa bowp

Maraming factors dito:
1. Anong PNP stream ang inaplayan? Kung employer-driven stream na me job-offer, hindi bibigyan ng BOWP - "closed" or restricted WP ang ibinibigay kahit nag-apply ng open work permit
2. Nag apply ba ng open work permit sa application? At inilagay LMIA-exempt? Baka naman hindi specified na open work permit ang inaaplyan - medyo magulo ang form dito
3. Isinama ba nya ang AoR sa application patunay na accepted na at in progress na ang application? Kasi kung nomination letter lang at walang iba - mas maliit ang chances of getting a WP.

Being qualified, does not mean bibigyan ka ng BOWP. You may be eligible to apply, but do not satisfy the conditions or by applying for a BOWP, taliwas naman ito sa intent ng PNP/PR application nya (i.e. employer-driven).

Me AoR ka na? Kapag me AoR ka na - no need to worry - the application has been accepted and deemed complete.

Kung wala pang AoR - always have proof na valid ang nomination at the time the application was physically received at CIO. Ang kailangan mong panghawakan dito is yung courier delivery receipt/transmittal receipt. Patunay yan na nung umabot at na-receive sa CIO ang application package, valid ang lahat ng documents mo. Maaring hindi pa binubuksan ang application package, pero received na sa CIO.

Medyo rare ang case nito na ibinabalik ang application kasi expired na ang nomination letter at the time nung binuksan ang package. Madalas ang cases na returned ang application kasi me kulang na docs, or mali ang payment method, or me form na hindi napirmahan. Pero dahil din sa tagal ng pagbabalik ng application package, madalas ang nomination letter is expired na, kasama ng ilang docs, kaya kailangan kumuha ng re-issued nomination letter mula sa PNP at new PCCs before mag-resubmit.

If in the case na returned (hindi rejected) because expired na ang nomination letter - you can also resubmit as it and contest the reason for returning the docs - with proof (courier delivery receipt) na on the first submission, valid lahat. Note medyo malabo ang ganitong tack because - expired na din ang ibang documents (so chances of contesting it successfully medyo mababa at mataas ang risk ng ibabalik ulit ang application). You can ask for a re-issue of the nomination letter from your PNP to use in the re-submission.

Kung hindi nya isinama ang AoR - well ano pa ang proof na me actual application in progress?

One of the things in the application is - expected natin CIC does their job of checking. Hindi madalas ito ang nangyayari - kaya kailangan sa bawa't application, sa unang rebisa ng file pa lang ng VO or ng officer, nakikita or nababasa na ang hinahanap nya. Kung walang AoR dito - agad agad walang patunay na me application in progress KAHIT pa me medical at PPR na ongoing sa PR application. As far as the officer is concerned, WP ang application, hindi PR. So hahanapin ng officer ng requirements para sa isang WP at ang processing is para sa isang WP, at wala pang relevance ang details ng ongoing PR application.

Two separate applications - one (PR) gives you eligibility for the other (WP/BOWP or extension) - pero to be given the 2nd one - kailangan you have to satisfy the requirements of the WP application with the PR application as a reason for not having an LMIA. Hindi tuwiran na DAHIL me PR application ka, bibigyan ka ng WP - me ibang condition pa na kailangan i-satisfy para sa WP extension or issuance. Dito sa sinasabi ng kasama mo ang nakikita ko - hindi kita agad na me ongoing PR application kaya naging dahilan ang expiry ng nomination letter ang refusal/rejection ng application. Kung sa simula pa lang, may cover letter na malinaw na nag-sasaad na me File Number/Application Number na sa CIO, o me AoR na kalakip ng application - kitang kita me PR application in progress at magbubunsod sa officer na i-verify sa GCMS ang status ng PR application. Pero kung sa simula pa lang, technicality na ang expiry ng nomination letter - hwag mo asahan na kusa nila sisilipin ang status ng PR application ng WP applicant.

Dear all,

I have sent may PR application (PNP) through DHL. They picked doc on 23 February, 2015. On 02.03.2015, online status shows:
Monday, March 02, 2015 Location Time
24 Delivered - Signed for by NOVA SCOTIA AREA 13:21

In this case, there is no name who signed for it and location did not mention Sydney before Nova Scotia Area, what I have seen in case of some others. However, i called DHL and they tell me that some TONNY or TOMY signed for. Is it okay?
Is the delivery is successfully made to CIO.
Anyone experienced the same? Please share.
