Hi sir Ragluf and other seniors,

I have a question concerning the security and criminality check. Here is my timeline:

- Feb 14th 2014: My file was transferred from Singapore V.O to Manila V.O to reduce the backlog from Singapore V.O
- March 6th 2014: MR & RPRF & police clearance request from Manila V.O
- March 19th 2014: Medicals & RPRF & police clearance sent & done
- May 29th 2014: ECAS - In process
- June 3rd 2014: Request for additional documents: update personal history
- June 19th 2014: ECAS - Medical results received
- PPR: Waiting

It looks my medical results are complete and they are now working on the security and criminality checks as I lived in 03 countries more than 6 months.
(Vietnam, Holland and U.S.A). I already sent them 03 original police clearance certificates (clean records) from those countries and my question to you if you know how soon this process will take. All of my mates who were transferred to Manila like my case already received PPR and that's why I'm a bit concerned about this kind of check.

Please share with me if you also experience this kind of check and got to know how it's processed.

Thanks a lot for your replies on this.

Cheers
Alan

Ps: Happy Canada day ahead y'all!

Hi Alan,

Tanung lang po.

Gaano katagal bago mo nakuha Police Clearance from the USA?
Inantay mo ba i-request sayo before you applied for it o you applied for PC before they required you to submit?
Saan ka po nag pa fingerprint?

Thank you po sa response in advance.

Sir Ragluf, im a Vietnamese citizen and got transferred to Manila VO thanks to backlog reduction from Singapore V.O.Therefore i dont need PCC from Manila. I already submitted all PCCs that im supposed to and i just wonder how CEM process the checks and how long it takes for the common practice! Thanks a lot for your prompt reply!

Hi Lioxine, im not sure if i understand your question but if you need to apply for a PCC from FBI,you need to read their instruction in their website! One of the step is to get your finger prints from a proper specialist and mail them with your credit card info for the payment! It takes around 4_6 weeks to get the results PCC from FBI! Do read their instructions carefully, you will be fine!

I see. Welcome to the thread! :) Unfortunately we do oftentimes communicate in our own language as there are some points that can easily be made understandable when using the basic tongue.

Now for your question. There is no difference with CEM and with other VOs in doing the security/criminality checks - all are the same. Where the timelines get extended is often with security screening - to which we applicants have no input as this is done internal with Canadian agencies (presumably) querying security agencies of the other countries; it has been observed that the greater number of countries resided will add in to application processing - possibly due to the number of security inquiries needed and the added waiting time for the response to each. The indication of "In process" often shows that admissibility checks have started or in progress; let's assume this includes the security checks as all these admissibility checks are done in parallel. But the response to these queries may not come all at the same time; some may take a longer time than others. The PCCs are only one input to the security/criminality checks.

I see from your timeline that tha last update happened 6/19, after you had sent in the additional documents and updated personal history, and that update (medical results received) is 3 months after completing medicals. I will surmise that update is not because of the medical results were actually received or even completed (IMHO - 3 months is too long to forward medical results and complete a medical assessment...) but because there has been completion on some of the pending admissibility checks (but not all). Perhaps pending is a response to a check based on your updated personal history or a pending is completion of a security assessment to reconcile the information in the updated personal history with what has been received.

Nevertheless, there should be movement in your application in the coming weeks and barring any other requests a PPR should be due soon. Your processing did indeed ramp up after the transfer (lots have happened in the 4months), that is one very welcome development.

Tapos biglang nagparamdam ang VO....they have received our file na raw....susme, ngayon lang!!!
After a few days, biglang nagging "Application Received" uli ang status....yay, bakit imbes na umusad bumalik uli sa step 1.
Anong nangyari???
Intayin mo later after landing - yung eCAS from "Complete" (after landing) magiging "In Process" (umulit ulit?

Congratulations!!!

We went to get COC from SG police cantonment branch today and it will only be released on 22July(21 days grrr). I received my coc request on 27June so I think I'm still within the 30day period if I send it immediately. What if the release is delayed? What are my options? Can i request for an extension?

You can request CEM for an extension - when you have no recourse as the releasing of the CoC is delayed and it will not meet the 30day deadline - send word immediately to CEM, explaining the situation, and then including proof of your CoC application and expected release dates.

Then as soon as you get the CoC - send it immediately and notify CEM of compliance.
