Hello All,
Just updating everybody on our experience with our medical exam last Friday at SLEC.
We were there very early, before the Canada counter was open. They start at exactly 7:00am or a little bit after that. Friday is a good day to go because there were hardly any people. Staff is efficient and friendly and the facilities are topnotch.
When they allowed us to enter the clinic at around 6:30, we took numbers from the counter, one for each of us. When they opened the counter, they took our docs. You should bring your passport and photocopies, they did not need the photocopies of the birth certificates. You should also write your names at the back of the photos they require so you don't waste time doing it at the counter. Bring your own black ballpen. They then asked us to answer they questionnaires. I had to disclose everything, my bunso's primary complex and my husband's previous surgery and current hypertension. After filling out the forms was photo capture and they sent us to x-rays and labs.
Next step was x-ray then labs then back to the floor where the Canada counter is found for the physical examination with their physicians. Vital signs first, weight, height and eye exam. They then gave us numbers for the PE. Hiwalay ang husband ko sa amin kasi lahat ng anak ko girls, but we were seen by the same doctor.
PE was usual exam done in pre-employment, if you've had that. Interview about previous hospitalizations, illnesses, immunizations. She checked my ears, etc. Checked my girls, breath sounds, etc., BCG scars and all. Birthmarks, even scars from wounds.
We talked about my bunso's primary complex and she of course referred us for pulmo eval which would be after lunch.
My husband naman, usual interview din and examination but he is going to undergo additional blood tests and consultation. If you want to find out why he has to have the additional tests and consultation, please just send me a PM. I don't want to disclose it sa buong forum. .
All my kids had to undergo the additional pulmo eval because my bunso is currently under treatment. Pending yung two older kids kasi mag sputum test muna yung bunso and if her smear is positive, they will have to do workup for the two as well. Bunso will be getting her additional blood tests and sputum test next week, kasabay ng Papa nya with his own additional consultations.
So we're praying hard that she'll be negative para di kami masyadong ma delay.
Thanks all for your unending support. I hope what I've shared will help any of you in the same situation.
