hi kamille12,
you can still work abroad while at the same time process your application... you can track the progress of your application since the correspondence from visa office is via email. While waiting for the MPNP approval, you just need to make sure you update them of your whereabouts especially your sponsors (if applicable), while in Federal part (PR Visa stage-after LOA) you can have your medical at the current country of residence/anywhere in the world. It's is much better to save money while waiting for the PR visa. ;) ;) ;)

Hi,

I submitted my MPNP last February 2012. But I got a job offer abroad. I am currently residing here in the Philippines. I would just like to ask if it is advisable to go to other country while waiting for the LOA of Manitoba?? Do LOA have an expiration in which I need to finish all the visa processing and medical in a specific amount of time? Can I change visa office once in the middle of application?

I heard it would take 1-2 years under General Stream. Can you guys further explain the step to step process in MPNP. (from submission of application to Visa release.)

I am having a difficult time weighing my options. To wait here in the Philipiines for another 1-2 years or work temporarily abroad to save up money for my immigtration in Canada. Any reply would be appreaciated.

Thank you!

you will see the expiration date as written in your LOA.. it has been my option too, to leave and work temporarily or wait..the longest wait is during assessment in Manitoba..many forum mates did the online application for faster process, i'm not sure how fast..but for us who submitted via paper and mail, it really takes a while..but not 2 years as you expected.. in a few months you will receive your AOR, then sponsor interview when everything is ready, then after a month your LOA will be sent to you, then the process in VO CEM... yes it may take more than a year, but it is not a year of 'no movement'... in those months of waiting, you will see progress...and you need to be there to process your papers whenever they need you to do them...

but we have some forum mates who work abroad during application and are bound to go back to Philippines for processing...some work abroad but have their papers and medical results relayed to CEM...maybe you should read this thread again and look for cues who work on abroad among them, then send them personal messages to get their attention... hope somehow this helps ;D ;D ;D

Thank you for you reply @ BlessedMe. And thanks for the tips. I've been reading the forum for hours yesterday, so far I cannot find a specific person with same dilema. Threads are crazy long in here.I did asked in different forum but so far you guys are the only who willingly replied

[size=10pt]and thank you also @sset12 for informing me that I am not the only one in this situation.

Last question, can I have a representative in the Philippines to process/submit everythin in the CEM? So, that I will only go back to Manila if im for interview (ANYWAY, Im not sure but is there an interview for that?). And if ever the visa is released, does the visa also have an expiration date in which I need to go to Canada ASAP. I thought they will release the PR Visa. And the PASSPORT! Im thinking if I could work in a certain country if I send my passport back in the embassy in manila. I don't have much option since there is no Canadian embassy in the country that Im trying to apply to. As mush as possible I don't want to breach any contract so I am asking the experienced and helpful people regarding my dilemma.

Again, thank you both! and Godbless! :p :p :-* :-* :p :p

representative? i'm not sure if that is applicable in visa application, but it was possible with MPNP application... but in the checklist that i submitted, there is a form for representative (whether paid or not)..

i have not seen anyone here who was interviewed and appeared in CEM for interview...

and yes, the visa has 1 year expiry, so you better be there before it expires because it will be really, terribly difficult to get another one..and see to it that there is a DMP in the country where you will go,, check cic.gc.ca for availability of DMP in that country...and medical results also have 1 year validity, otherwise you will have to undergo medical again...

another thing, before submitting everything to CEM, you'll have to sign the papers, including the form indicating your representative...you can fill that up abroad then send to Philippines..and when it comes to getting police clearance and employment certificate from that country, it's really a pinch... we have forummates who had difficulty getting cert of employment from employers abroad..

Wow, Thank you again for clarifying the matter to me. It is so helpful! Anyway, So, I guess I'm just gonna max out both the expiration of my LOA and visa. So that gives me 1 and a half year allowance. I will pass my papers in CEM 2 months before the expiry of my LOA and will go to Canada before my visa expire. I just need to save up money for my new life in Canada. Thanks again! and godbless!

I've read this in CIC:

Important:

1) As of December 1, 2011, if you are applying under the Provincial Nominee Program, you must submit your application to the Centralized Intake Office (CIO) in Sydney, Nova Scotia. Once you have gathered all required forms and documents listed in the Document Checklist, send your application to:

Citizenship and Immigration
Provincial Nominee Program
Centralized Intake Office
PO Box 1450
Sydney, Nova Scotia
B1P 6K5
Canada

So, I guess I don't need to go back to Philippines just to submit the said documents. Right?? Sweet! I'm sorry, Im a newbie in application for abroad. Anyway, Super Thanks again!

Hi. Your medical exams and pr visa has the same expiry, that is 1 year from your medical. This applies whether you get your pr visa six months or three months before expiry date. Some people I know got their visas around 8 months before expiry while another one got it with just 3 months remaining. A good estimate will be the date you had your medical exams, then count one year from that. Hope this helps!

Ah okay! Now I am slowly having a clear Idea on what's gonna happen and what I could do. Thank you for your help. I do appreciate everyone! Thanks!
