Hi all,

Finally may visa na kami! :) It was delivered the day after my birthday. Thank you Lord!:)

Hiwalay yun RPRF and PPR dates namin. In Canadian dollars ako nagbayad, bank draft issued through BPI. Iniwasan ko yun issue related sa fluctuation rate kaya in Cad$. Wala naman naging prob. 3 weeks after I forwarded the payment, PPR na kami.

Back to our visa, may problema, wrong spelling yun name ng anak ko sa VISA and COPR..:( Nakakadisappoint lng kasi final stage na nag'kaaberya pa and sa end pa nila yun nagkamali. Di ko maiwasang di mainis.. So ibabalik ko pa yun passport and COPR for correction yun kasi yun nakalagay sa attached mail nila.

2. Sa "dependant details" ng COPR ko naka'state dun yun name ng anak and husband ko as my dependants (ako yun principal applicant). Pero sa "dependant details" ng COPR ng anak and husband ko, name ko lang yun naka'state na "dependant". Question ko is sa COPR ng anak and husband ko tama po ba na ako lang kasi ako yun principal applicant?

Oh my, how did you guys survive the December winter in Winnipeg? I heard it's ruthless. LOL
How was the first experience with the cold?

Yun nga gusto sana, summer ang dating. Ako pa naman I can be less tolerant to the cold weather. :-/
We did not land in Winnipeg - we initially arrived in Nova Scotia, last week of Dec '10, they said just after a snow-storm :-X. We did prepare but all for naught as the cold weather really does seep into the bones. Layering and layering, during the first few months did help us adjust to the cold eventually. It is better to layer several thin pieces of clothing - all overlapping, beneath an insulated coat/outer layer, rather than rely on a just a couple of thick layers - you will be able to move more comfortably. The use of head gear and protection for the ears plus neck scarves do well to keep the heat in your body core. Chapped lips, dry skin, in the initial days were what we experienced, aside from the cold. Don't worry, we noypi's are a resilient bunch and can adapt anywhere... :)

Isang taon na wala pa din akong medical request from SGVO. Haiizzzz....
Yes - SGVO has one of the longest processing times - unfortunately. Must be because they consolidate and process also applicants from different nearby countries also (MY, IDR etc.) long before added consolidation of functions were done in other VOs.

You could request for your file to be transferred to another VO (CEM) - but as you are legally admitted and residing in SG, the office responsible for the territory is SGVO and your application is already in mid-processing I surmise - so no great advantage in my view. There may be some circumstances transfer may be allowed - it also depends on how long you have resided in SG and your dependents included in the application, and this should have been done early in the application process.

Cheers - SG is one of the nicest places I have been to. Plus the proximity and being in the same timezone to the PH is something to be desired. It is always nice know your relatives and family in the PH is just a 3-4 hrs away :). Keep your hopes up....

Thanks ragluf. The time I send my application I have no idea on the processing time in Singapore. My family and I are here since 2006 that is why no choice than to use the SGVO. And sadly, I just recently checked the processing time for Singapore, from 23 months as of last week, it is now 24 months. Really pissed me off. But nothing can be done than wait. But waiting kills me. Just thinking positively to get my mind off in that processing time. 12 more months to go. :'(

So ibabalik ko pa yun passport and COPR for correction yun kasi yun nakalagay sa attached mail nila.
There is no clear method identified in the letter accompanying the CoPR - only the instructions to return the CoPR/Visa in case of errors. Please review the appendix/bio-data page you submitted in response to the PPR and check for errors. If you decide to go to CEM Makati, usually they are hesitant to allow applicants with no prior appointment to go up, however, make your case at the security desk and state no clear and specific instructions on what to do is aside from returning the docs is listed in the accompanying letter/instructions. Most likely the CoPR and visa with errors will need to be reprinted. No idea on the turn-around time.
Additional questions po pala re COPR:
PNs are technically "sponsored" or nominated by the Province to which you applied. You may have been "sponsored" by a relative in your application to the Province Nominee program in order to get an LOA, but it is the Province that nominated you (in my opinion hence becomes your defacto sponsor) for immigration to the Federal level under PNP. Would explain why PNs do not have any sponsor info in the CoPRs.
2. Sa "dependant details" ng COPR ko naka'state dun yun name ng anak and husband ko as my dependants (ako yun principal applicant). Pero sa "dependant details" ng COPR ng anak and husband ko, name ko lang yun naka'state na "dependant". Question ko is sa COPR ng anak and husband ko tama po ba na ako lang kasi ako yun principal applicant?
You have to look at this from the point-of-view of you as the principal applicant in this application. Your dependents becomes your husband and your child/children and is then listed in your CoPR. You hubby is not the PA, and thus in this application, he is your dependent/Spouse. Same goes for your child - she/he is not the PA, she/he is your dependent. The individual CoPRs for your dependents tie back to the PA by having the PA's name in the Dependent(s) Information thus identifying who is the PA.

Oh I see. A valuable tip indeed. You're right, Filipinos are pretty adaptable to any kind of environment. :) Thank you ragluf :)
