Hi Cheonfire,Cheonfire said:That is an option if he is working here in the Philippines but he is actually working in other country & their employer is the one holding their PPs & his boss doesn't even have an idea that he applied for a PR in Canada. Anyway, only God knows when this PPR will come, I'll just have to wait. Thanks again.
By the way Ragluf, how long is your visa valid?
I feel your dilemma, because I am working abroad. And same thing went through my mind, is when to resign -- should I do it now before the PPR or should I quit when we get PPR. Some VO's give 45 days, and like what Ragluf says, some give 30 days notice only, so doon nag panick ako, kasi 30 days notice ang resignation sa akin. So I understand your dilemma because in the middle east, the employers hold their passports, and some employers ask for 2 months notice when resigning. In one of the forums I joined, there's a lady who's husband is in the middle east, nung nag passport request sa kanila, nauna sila'ng mag iina nagpasa ng passport, sumunod na lang yung kay hubby na passport.
So - if your husband's company allows him to courier his passport, then that is your best option. If one month notice lang sila na resignation sa work, and CEM's email for PPR is within 45 days submission, ok din yun, may 15 days palugit pa kayo.
So I understand why you're asking how long the visa validity is - because I believe you're trying to gauge when he can resign. Well your visa validity is your medical validity (which is 1 year from the date of medical dahil 1 year valid lang ang medical). Like in my case, we had our medical last March 2012. Should we be given visa before Christmas (God willing), the visa validity will be till March 2013.
That is why I opted to resign and wait for PPR back home and be with my hubby & daughter, and enjoy our country to the full (for the next 5 months!!) but in your case, kung pwede na hindi naman siya mag resign at hintayin nyo matatakan ang visa nyo para may kita pa ng konti si hubby, mas ok yun dahil sayang din kikitain at madugong gastusan pag migrate. Sana nakatulong ng konti ang idea ko
