Time required to get passport for a Canadian born baby

Hello all,

Can anyone please tell me from first hand experience how much time it requires to get the passport for a baby born in Canada? Is it a matter of a week maximum or are we talking about alot more than that?

Thanks you Lammawitch, so now I can apply for passport only when I get the birth certificate, any idea how long does it take to get the birth certificate.? I just need to know how long should I estimate before I can fly back out of canada.
