Hi friends,
this is a really premature question but one I'm curious about.
I only became a PR in April this year so it's a while before I contemplate citizenship BUT I saw that with Bil C-6 there's a change coming where they will count time spent before you were a PR.
I lived in Canada from January 2011 until October 2013 and spent a total of about 2 months (holidays) outside of the country in that period. I was on three successive working holiday visas (first through BUNAC before it expired and then 2 on the IEC visa). I also spent 2 months on a visitor visa in the middle of a visa change over. So I spent a total of 32 months in that time frame living as a temporary resident.
When the changes come into force will I be able to count this time as a temporary resident of Canada towards my Citizenship application?
Only curious because it doesn't stipulate whether this has to be within a certain time frame at present. I personally think that it would have to be within the last 5 years in which case I wouldn't be able to, but wondering what people think/know.
Thanks!
