I had a good experience with WestJet, they have tv's in their long flights and the seats in coach are rather nice. Air hostesses friendly and attentive...

The only thing I didn't like was the non-free in flight food and the fact that I was at the airport about 1.5 hrs before the flight and I was told "had you arrived 5 min later you would've missed the flight". How? how do you miss the flight arriving 90 min before it leaves? that's crazy.

All in all, I enjoyed it quite a bit. Airlines in Mexico are just as expensive, offer less (instead of 25 kg you can only check in 15 with Volaris, which is terrible if you use connecting flights), way less than other airlines.

Air Canada also charges ridiculously for domestic flights - $6 for a bag of jelly beans! Westjet is sneaky though - $50 to change a flight - even if it's weeks ahead of the flight!

Hey

I am paying the rpr fee (the $490 one). I couldn't pay all of it earlier... Anyway, am I supposed to mail the receipt to where I sent the spousal application (po box 3000)? The website says to mail it to po box 6100 -- which is where the parent/grandparent sponsorships go. I know it says that but do they mean the spousal right of pr fee receipt too or just the one for parents?

Thanks!!!

Great news! My hubby got his passport back today - but we were able to start tracking it last night. I just booked his flight to Toronto this coming Thursday. Only two more sleeps left before I can see him again! Soooooo happy!

Got my Passport and Landing Docs back today, too. Yeah!

This is getting frustrating!

Is anyone else experiencing the same lag?

We applied September/10, with an AOR Nov30/10 asking for an RCMP background check for my spouse within 90 days. We sent it, but it hasn't been updated on ECAS.

As of now our ECAS just states "in process, meds received." which doesn't mean too much, since we did the meds in July of 2010.

Since then we haven't heard a thing. The letter we received in Nov/10 stated that they expect to complete the processing without an interview, so we're not sure what the hold up is. It also requested that we pay the ROPR fee, but we haven't received any notice of it being approved, which to my understanding is generally sent with that request.

Does anyone have any tips? We've sent emails to Buffalo but have yet to hear anything, and that was over a month ago.

Congratulations! My hubby landed this past Thursday. Such a relief and very happy! Good luck everyone!

Thanks mmhughes - right back at you!

I have a couple of questions for all those that have landed.

1) When writing out the list of goods to accompany you and those that'll come later, do you use the B4 document for both (separate) lists?

and

2) Do we need to show a proof of funds, or is this just for skilled workers, etc.?

Thanks.

I'm also waiting and haven't heard anything since Jan when they requested my passport scan only:(

Expecting something soon though...

@MissyIffy,

1) yes, separate lists

2) no proof of funds required for spouses, that's only for work class

exciting news! My baby daughter was born here in Phuket 2 days ago. But now... what to do about the new baby with regards to my wife's immigration application?

notify it immediately. They always want you to keep them updated with family constitution and contact (addresses and phone numbers) information.

An email to the embassy processing your application is good enough

Many thanks for the info :)

I regret reading this thread. I now feel so depressed seeing that the majority of applicants now have their PR. My husband and I applied in September with a straightforward case. It was sent to Singapore in November and since that time we have heard absolutely NOTHING! What a shame. It must be the slowest visa office in the world.

But congrats to everyone who has their PR and no longer has to play this waiting game ;)
