Reiterating what's already been said, but just in case:

1) You need to log-on with your sponsor's info
2) Number (may) need to be typed in, not copied and pasted from electronic receipt

Hopefully, you'll be able to log on soon! Goodluck :)

Congratulations! I thought I would have been a day faster than you ;) Still haven't heard anything but I have a feeling that mine may take longer because I couldn't do that print option C thing because I was working in the UK for the previous 4.5 years! So instead I gave them my payslips for the last year. Not sure if that has anything to do with it! Although, I've been cutting and pasting my receipt number. Perhaps I'll try typing it but I'm not holding my breath.

Got my fingers crossed for all of us stragglers! My sponsor also didn't give an Option C, cause he's been working in Asia 3.5 years! But maybe it's got something to do with which office the apps are being forwarded to. On our table here it says I am at London office, but actually my onward visa office is Taipei, Taiwan. The processing speed at this office is SUPER fast and refusal rate at supposedly 3% (although I think that statistic applies to Taiwanese applicants and not to expats working here!)

Anyhoo, I'm sure it'll be any day now for you. I still didn't get my decision letter - which is the most stressful part, I think!

OH THE SUSPENSE!!!!

I was finally able to log in today, and it says that they made a decision about my sponsorship application... but I don't know if they decided yes or no! I have to wait for the post to reach me alllll the way out here in Thailand!

MissyIffy: I fixed your VO :)

Thanks bonbon9, but I really wasn't hinting! I'm a Brit living in Asia and I did grow up in London! Anyhoo - thanks for always updating this for all of us. It's really nice to be able to easily see everyone progress!

well they said they received my application on Sept 28 and they sent the answer out in the post on October 26

Hi Lifer,

I am 1 month behind you and going through Singapore too. Your case is of great interest so please update your progress

Hope you are successful. I am in a similar situation but been away for 14 years not 1.5 years. My wife is in Indonesia and I have returned to Qatar for work. Hope she can come before the end of Dec. I need to get my work visa and then her visa and that takes time here.

Known my wife for 2 years, married in Canada since Aug 10, she lived with me in Qatar from Oct 09 to Sep 10. My Mom and a few friends came to a "Muslem Ceremony", not registered, to celebrate our union. She has visited Canada for 40 days and met my Dad and Sister etc.

Good luck

Bad news for me. I just phoned about my sponsorship application and unfortunately my husband forgot to sign somewhere (I double checked this before I sent the application out but I must have missed it) and we forgot to do something with the photos (on the back?) but I'm not sure what that means. They sent the letter to me yesterday which means I should receive it either late this week or next.

On a better note, my husband will be coming to visit next week so I guess he can sign the form in person!

Has anyone forgot to do something on their application before? Are they going to re-send us our application or will they just ask for the pieces that we missed? And finally, will we have to wait for another month or so before we will hear back about our sponsorship application? I guess in other words, how much is this going to delay us.

Many thanks for your advice in advance.

Oh. I thought this could be left blank because it says to do the meds first, and you can't have a file number without sending the application. But I am applying through outland spousal sponsorship via CPC-M, so maybe it's different for different sponsorships. Can anyone else share their expertise?
It's more like that the guide says several things. If you need to do your meds up front: why a Client ID field that looks like to be filled in up front? In the timeline they show that they'll ask you to do the meds after sponsorship approval. The last time I looked at this was at least two months ago, so I could be forgetting something.

Trying to log in through "Online services" --> "Check my application status" (e-Cas), doesn't work. It says our receipt number doesn't exist. (I suppose I need to copy/retype the code above the bar code?) Tried both with my name (I paid it) and my sponsor's name.
E-Pass doesn't work on my pc. It can't find the java engine (it's surely installed). Don't know if it'll show anything, but I tried!

My sponsorship approval was completed 27/9. Since then we have not heard a thing. Is this unusual for Guatemala? I was hoping they would have received our case since then.
Any suggestions?

You need to be patient. It can take time for an application to start to be "in process" at the embassy's, especially if there is a cue your application has to wait in. Not hearing anything is normal, not just for Guatemala, but for anyone in our situation.

Once you have been approved as a sponsor, your file is uploaded electronically here in Canada and sent electronically to the embassy you will be working with. You can call immigration here and check to make sure that your application has been uploaded and sent to Guatemala. That would be step one to putting your mind at ease.

Then you can email the embassy in Guatemala directly through their case specific email address and ask if they received your application yet. They should be able to tell you that, even if they haven't begun to process it.

But ultimately it is a waiting game...

Hope this helps.

Thanks this puts my mind at ease. There are so many of us waiting. I just have to more patient.

By the way...
