Hi! how are you? Well, if you happen to notice in this thread and in other threads, if the visa office is in Manila, the requirements are being requested early on in the process. It would still take a minimum of 4 months to several more months for the Manila visa office to grant the sponsored his or her visa. It is just how they process the application. I guess different visa office in different countries operate differently in processing the application though same documents being requested depending if visa officials are satisfied with your papers. We'll get there, might just not be at the sametime; but our wait will be over soon...Goodluck to you Kingqatar.

Got my fingers crossed for all of us stragglers! My sponsor also didn't give an Option C, cause he's been working in Asia 3.5 years! But maybe it's got something to do with which office the apps are being forwarded to. On our table here it says I am at London office, but actually my onward visa office is Taipei, Taiwan. The processing speed at this office is SUPER fast and refusal rate at supposedly 3% (although I think that statistic applies to Taiwanese applicants and not to expats working here!)

Anyhoo, I'm sure it'll be any day now for you. I still didn't get my decision letter - which is the most stressful part, I think!

Hey guys - I've been out of Canada for 5 years and I do have an Option C printout for 2007 (last year I filed) but it was only due to the sale of my apartment and shows a measly $10,000 income. Should I bother sending it at all or should I send it and note the reason it's such a small amount?

Congratulations to silvergray for process/AOR!

dishy_max: I would send a note explaining the situation. The requirement is not to be bankrupt/on welfare, income doesn't matter. But an additional note will show that you're aware that bringing your partner is an additional expense, and they like to see clear finances in our applications. Hope this helps!

Thank you for the explaination. It took the normal month for the sponsorship approval in Canada and only 7 days in Manilla? From reviewing the posts, everybody compiles a complete application with meds, PCC, evidence of relationship etc before they send to CIC Miss as you did.

Manila is really fast (in most cases). Enjoy Canada. I am processing through Singapore and expect to be waiting until next June next year. Working in Qatar now but mywife should join me within 2 months when I get a new family visa for her so although we are ready to get to Canada, saving more cannot hurt.

Your welcome kingqatar...Yup it took actually 6 days from putting up the ecas "in process" status to receiving the letter from CIC Manila. Right, everything was sent complete including the fee for processing before the application was sent to mississauga. The visa office will just have to tell me what docs I might still be missing to satisfy their requirements. ...

I hope you do well too and there is no happier times than to be with your family...

Sorry if the abbrev were confusing....

AOR - Acknowledgement Of Receipt. You receive this once the visa office has started processing the application of the person being sponsored.
PPR - Passport Request

Thank you purple_woman. Actually, wifey went to Manila Embassy earlier and sent everything in the drop box. She didn't use the dhl or courier anymore in sending the passport and other docs.

Congrats to every1 whose sponsorships are approved and those who already got AOR and PPR Seems like, New Delhi office is very slow Havent got any response till now. eCas status itself hasnt yet changed to in process.
