Hi Everyone,

our application is now been in processing since Oct. 14! Things are finally moving

Looks like we had a slight problem with our app...I forgot to get my wife to sign the sponsorship agreement. I know she'll blame herself but it really was totally my fault.

They didn't send back the whole application, just the form, so we'll get it corrected and resent on Monday. At least we know our client ID now. Letter was dated for October 22nd.

Just an added note Kenomee that you only send a photocopy of the sponsorship agreement and not the original. The guide said for you to keep the original and make 2 photocopies of it; 1 for your wife and the other 1 for your application

Should I put my client ID on the envelope? Anything else to expedite the process once this document arrives?

I would attach a short letter explaining that you are responding to inquiry dated Oct. XX, 2010, Client ID, Sponsor Name, Applicant Name, D.O.B. (as they normally request this when you send email. So very short, to the point letter and paperclip photocopy to it and send ASAP to mississauga. I think the background checks will be done and you will get approval within the week once they receive

Thanks, I'll certainly do that. I've spent the entire night wondering how I've managed to go over that application so many times but forgot to get her to sign that one document...doh! :-[

We're really nearing the end of our list of sponsorship approvals; then off to our own visa offices! Good luck to us all!

Reiterating what's already been said, but just in case:

1) You need to log-on with your sponsor's info
2) Number (may) need to be typed in, not copied and pasted from electronic receipt

Hey guys,
I checked e-cas and it says that "decision has been made" and a letter has been sent to me on Oct 26th. Haven't recieved the letter yet but I'm really glad that I finally heard something back from them

My application has been sent the last weekend of september (Sunday 26, if I'm not mistaken). Doing an inland, so it's been sent to Vegreville.

Does anyone know if they'll send back a confirmation of reception? I made a nice cover lettre saying I will do my medical check as soon as I receive my file number from them (which needs to be on the form).

Also I'm looking forward to this confirmation, because I'd like to know if my enveloppe has been opened at all. There's also a request for a new (open) working permit in there. My current one ends up late January 2011, which gives me some time, but if I can stay ahead of trouble I'll surely do so...

Oh. I thought this could be left blank because it says to do the meds first, and you can't have a file number without sending the application. But I am applying through outland spousal sponsorship via CPC-M, so maybe it's different for different sponsorships. Can anyone else share their expertise?

As for confirmation, the first communication you'll receive is either through logging onto ecas, or the results letter for sponsorship - which ever you get first. In the former, it will just say "decision made" and you still need to wait for the physical letter to say if the decision was yes. (To others: does ecas ever say if the app was incomplete and returned???). The letter may say yes to sponsorship, no, or, your package may be returned if incomplete. So basically, there is no confirmation of them receiving your package.
