Hi Alic
It's great to find people from Honduras. I see we have almost the same timelines. You were lucky they answered and say that they will take 3 more months because when thay answered my email they never mentioned times.
Wow this is unbelievable takin 6 months to issue a visa. Why are they taking that much time? From what I see we will receive our passports in December.
I really wouldn't like to arrive in the cold winter but our meds expire in April, so our plans are kind of ruin since we wanted to arrive by late September.
Are you applying under FSW or Family Class?

Gigab

Hello Gigab;
Indeed it is great to find people from Honduras! and yes! we have almost the same timelines, so I guess we might be having our passports back at almost the same time hopefully!
I am applying under FSW and bringing my whole family with me; as you, I didn't want to arrive in winter, because of the cold and the expenses involved, but nevermind if I get the visa at all!! so spending Christmas in Canada doesn't sound bad at all!!!
I also wonder why are they taking this long to issue the visa when they already have the passports summited; I thought that by the time they requested the medicals and afterwards the passports that meant that you were already cleared and green to go.
Anyway, lets hope for the best outcome and pray for our visas to be issued before the time given! ;)
Are you a planning to land in Toronto or Ottawa?

Hi Alic:
Same here I'm bringing my family with me. And still deciding if leaving when passports come back (say if they come on October) or waiting next year. We are planning to land in Toronto. You know this is a Family Class forum but truth be told I did start a thread on FSW forum but not much people participated. I guess there aren't much applicants from central america.
So If people from this thread don't mind we'll be staying here. It's good to share timelines.

Gigab

lol...I didn't realize this was a family class forum... I just got in when I looked for anything concerning Guatemala's Canadian embassy...
Anyway, this thread will sure get more from both of us!

Hello everyone,

we heard from immigration today...we have to re-submit the criminal record check! Apparently the RCMP "didnt accept" the first one?? In other words i think they lost it :(

I can see this is going to take a long time

Hi MrsCasanova,

How did you heard from them, they called you or sent an email? Did they contact you in Canada or your husband?

And do you have a certain time to respect to send these papers, like, do you need to send them within 3 months or something?

Maybe they lost it, or, you know, I think that they are very picky on what they need as criminal records.... arg! At least we know that they are working! But god! It's taking such a long time :( You are waiting since september of last year???!!!!

I had my MP contact the IO who emailed the RCMP. The RCMP took about 3 weeks to email the IO back saying we need to re-do them and the IO sent a letter to my lawyer who emailed me. Phew. We have 90 days to re-do the fingerprints.

Yes we have been waiting since september of 2009

Hey,

Ok well that's a lot of infos thought! I had news from my MP yesterday, she wrote me an email saying that she couldn't do another check up in Ottawa because when she called, last july, they told her that we were still in the normal delays, so not to call back because we were in a normal proccess.... isn't it weird?

Anyway! I have to let go a little bit.. baby's gonna be here within 25 days so I have to put all my energy on our little guy coming soon! After, I'll have to check up to go in central America so him and daddy can meet up, and me to see my husband!! So, until then, I won't do anything else. I don't know if it's my MP who's the problem or if she's right not calling...?? So, no news, good news.. ?? ahah

ciaooo!

On date of today, I got an email from the ambassy saying that they sent correspondance for my hubby at the canadian consulate of his country. He have to go and pick it up as soon as possible. But his status his still "in proccess" on internet, so I guess that it's not an answer, right???

OK well if anyone's interested ahah they asked us to get the police certificate from Cuba, because hubby has been there to study for 2 months.. and they asked to re-do his medical certificate because his is gonna expire on nov. 13, so that's it, finally... he's not gonna be here before 2011 :(

fORMS FOR UPDATING PERSONAL INFORMATION

Hi everybody,

I am in the process of sponsoring my spouse and we need to add our newborn son to our file. Does anyone know what form I should fill out?

Here is a bit of an interesting story for you all.

Quatemala recieved our documents in Feb and we have been waiting to hear from them ever since. Atlast yesterday I get a email from them (after emailing them every month since April) stating that they sent correspondence to my husband in Honduras back on May 17th. The funny thing is we did not get any notification by phone, email, fax or mail that they had sent anything plus my husband lives in Nicaragua not Honduras. That was 4 months ago and if we had been notified he would most likely be here by now. I AM MAD!!! So I called the Honduras Canadian Embassy and they did not have anything there for him. Next I decided to call the Canadian Embassy in Nicaragua and low and behold his documents have been sitting there this whole time. Not only did they not notify me they were sent but when they did they gave me the wrong information!

My advice to everybody is follow up with your files on a regular basis and double check everything they send you. It is very apparent that Canadian Immigration staff are very overworked and things will slip through the cracks.

best of luck to all of you
