Hi,

If you do not mind, could you tell us from which country your spouse is from?

:)

I would like to know also.

Spouse is from pakistan, resident in lisbon.
We submitted PCC's from both countries though.

Update - I just checked My Application on CIC and ... Decision Made!

Our timeline/details:

SPOUSAL
Received in Mississauga: 22 January 2013
Sponsor approval: 18 February 2013
In process: 15 May 2013
Case Specific Enquiry Sent (address change, proof of cohabitation and pregnancy): 25 June 2013
Decision Made: 15 July 2013 (yay!)

My spouse is Algerian.

Hope it goes quick and well for all :)

Congrats on pregnancy and that he will soon be joining both of you!!!

My spouse is Algerian too so it gives me some hope that it will be within same time frame...:)

May I ask when they asked for his passport? And did he have to mail it to Paris office? Did he have an interview? Just wondering because I know someone who had to go to Tunisia for interview and send/pick-up his passport there...

Thanks....

Hi Aquarian,

Thank you for the wishes!

He hasn't yet had a passport request - it was just today I saw the Decision Made, and it says they will contact him regarding the decision.

There was no interview request - I think my case specific enquiry package (25 pages of evidence that: I lived with him in Algeria for 6 months; we're 5 months pregnant; and I've secured a full time position and an apartment in Toronto) negated any need for the interview. They say to do a cse only if you have an address change or change in family makeup, so I sent a big package as soon as I had a new address in Canada (moved back for a great job offer).

Hubby is assuming he'll have to fly to Paris to get his visa (he has a Schengen tourist visa). He knows Algerians who came under Quebec skilled worker 2+ years ago and got their visas in Tunisia, but he took a look at the embassy sites and thinks it looks like the only place now is Paris. I don't think he trusts courier to/from Algeria to send it.

I will update when he gets the passport request - looking forward!

I hope that yours will come soon, too :)

Hi,

But usually the passport is requested before the decision is made, no? They usually take it before any decision is made...

... and we got the passport request by email this morning :)

They provide several options, looks like hubby can go to Visa Application Centre (VAC) Paris, courier to VAC Paris, or go to/courier to VAC Algiers. Embassy in Algiers used to be an option, but it is undergoing renovations starting July 1, 2013. Tunisia is only listed as an option for residents of Tunisia.

Wow...CONGRATS!!! So happy for you guys!

Thanks for the info. about where to send/go to for passport delivery...again, congrats!!

(As for Tunisia, yes, usually just Tunisians, but there are rare cases - I know an Algerian who had to go there for interview and passport...)

Sorry - another question. Was the email from them easy to spot ("CIC...") and I am assuming it was in the junk mail folder?

Congrads everyone. I am still in the long waiting line here.

How many months for most of you to get the approval after they had made a decision?

Hi again,

Our email from CIC that they are ready to issue the visa arrived one day after e-cas status changed to DECISION MADE. It came into my inbox (I was cc'd, it was addressed to hubby's email address), easy to spot 'Visa prêt pour émission' from re-paris-immigration @ international.gc.ca. It looks like once hubby submits his passport, it will be about 3-10 days (if he submits to VAC Algiers - I'm guessing they send it to Paris using diplomatic courier).

Now I just need to be patient - he's got quite a few things on his to-do list, like closing bank accounts, the house, wrapping things up at work, etc ...

Overall, I must say I am impressed with Paris office! Especially knowing that they may have been in contact with Algerian offices (and the bureaucracy therein).

Hey all,
I'm rather impressed with how fast the Paris office is going. We received a 'Decision Made' today (Sept 6) and received AOR from Paris on June 19, 2013!!!

Hi,

Did you notice when the line "Medical Results Received" appeared in e-cas for you?

thanks!

@Aquarian, it was probably right after they started processing because on e-cas #2 is we started processing etc. and #3 is medical results received....
