Hello all.....

Little bit of help required. We (my husband - PA) just received a letter from CIC stating:

We are pleased to inform you that you can now recieve free pre-arrival services funded by the Government of Canada. These services are available before you arrive and are meant to better prepare you for life in Canada.

It goes on with some links and information about pre-arrival services and what's on offer from IRCC for new arrivals, etc., etc.

However, we've not received any other approval paperwork. Has anyone seen this before? Am I to assume that the approvals and/or request for passport, etc., will now come imminently?
Congratulations to you and your family. That means eligibility passed. Just give it few more days or week you will receive ppr.
Where did you applied and where is your visa office?

It means you cleared the eligibility step, however, the last step (and tough one) is the back ground check. It's timeline is unpredictable. It can be hours, days, weeks and months. You will only receive the PPR once the BGC is done. Good luck!

We had cleared eligibility ages ago. It's been sat with the LVO since April. I can't imagine they would have sent the PA a letter stating "here's what to do once you land" if they hadn't already done the background check. I suspect like so many others here, documents coming from LVO are just sent out of sequence. I'll update once I've got more news. But I'd be interested in hearing from others as well to find out if anyone who has now received approvals had this same thing.

Yes, many people who have now had approvals got this pre-arrival stuff first.

Please share your timeline when you submit your application and where is your Visa Office.

This is a thread for Outland London Visa Office applications, so I assumed we were all with LVO... My timeline is in my signature. Application submitted to Mississauga Jan 26, sent to LVO May 26.

Congrats!...Our file was transferred on May 18th. I thought they were working on files that were transferred to London in April but looks like it is a random selection.

Yes, there seems to be little rhyme or reason to the process, doesn’t it? I hope you receive yours soon!

Our ECAS updated to DM this morning! We used an immigration consultant as our representative (big waste of money imo), so we will need to wait til Monday to have them forward any email to us with more details.
Soooooooo excited!!!

Does everyone have PPR? I mean to mail their passport away to be stamped? My husband is a British citizen, and he is currently here in Canada with me visiting. I’ve heard that not everyone is asked to send their passport in the mail...is this accurate?

If you are from a Non-visa exempt country, then you would have to send in your original passport to have the visa attached,

But your PA is British, so is visa exempt. He will NOT need to send an original passport as there is no b=visa to add. He MAY (or may not) be asked for photocopies of the passport bio page only. For my wife, we were not asked for either and simply received the CoPR in the post following decision made.

Thank you @Hurlabrick! Any idea how long after DM the COPR is sent? We are planning to travel back to the UK to wrap things up there end of Dec/early Jan (no tix booked yet) but wondering if it might take longer than that to have everything sorted and finalized.

I’m in exact same boat as you! Received DM on ECAS, but lawyer did not receive any update. However, I was able to find the status of my application by just calling +1 613-944-4000 and following the options i just my File Number and DOB and apparently on CGKEY it still BGC in progress.
I’m Italian and live in the UK too, I read that some get PPR (in our case request for copy passport) and some get COPR directly.

I just realized the COPR will be posted to his address in the UK...... is there any way we could have them send it to him at my address in Canada, do you think? Would sure be nice if he could land while he’s here visiting, then go back to wrap things up in Scotland...
