I got my BC driver's license when I was a visitor, not sure how that should delay things though. Doesn't that show them that I've followed their 'procedures'?

I would have thought so, we checked all procedures prior and it's allowed. I think because we haven't heard anything we are now grasping at possible reasons whybwe haven't heard.

I am planning to land on saturday.. since i have been in canada over a year, i dont have goods or goods to follow. i have everything i need already here (thanks to mom who has visit and brought my stuff).
But on saturday, we are hoping to cross the border to usa and do some shopping there.
are my shoppings my 'goods'? basically tax free? if so, do i have to rip off the tags?

hahah stupid question, but just want to make sure everything goes smoothly and fast!

thanks :)

hopefully some PPRs and passports back before weekend! ;D

can someone help me with the PPR pictures, it says it has to be printed on single weight matte paper. The ones i sent in the application were ones i printed on glossy photo paper (i think it was double weight) Why does it have to be so specific ??? i was ready to go to london today until i read that late last night and i couldnt find matte paper in any 24 hour supermarket. I'll have to order some online i guess and drive down next week or the week after. I'll still have my passport back before the 24th may which is when i had planned to leave anyways.

I'm pretty sure there's a Jessops on The Strand a short walk from the CHC.

I printed same photos on glossy photo paper. London had no issue. Landed on 16tb April.

:'( i knew i was over thinking it and being too cautious! Just didn't want to drive 4 hours to be turned away cos of stupid pictures! Oh well. I'll go next week. :)

The photo's usually aren't a problem for the london office but if they're not up to spec there will be a problem with producing your PR card after landing.......as i have found out :(

12 weeks after I landed I got a letter through telling me the photo submitted (which is attached to your COPR by london office when you submit your passport) wasn't up to spec so I had 30 days from the date of the letter to send in 2 new photo's up to spec. It's been 16 weeks now since I landed and still no PR card! I'm told it takes 6-8 weeks from re submission of photo's.

If you are dropping off your passport it's probably worth a stop at charing cross. There is a photo place called ID photo (I think thats the name) i've since found out they have great success with being accepted by the equipment that produces our PR cards.

Ahh thanks for the heads up! Atleast i dont have to stress about it now knowing i'll still be able to land whether the pics are ok or not. I was taking the whole summer off anyways so no rush for me to get a PR card :)

Landing tomorrow morning!!! YAY!
hopefully everything goes well :P :P

Good luck to all!
