For those of you now in the UK...interesting show on 9pm tonight that might interest you. Panaroma looks at sham weddings so people can immigrate to the UK. Exact same sorts of things happen for fraudsters trying to get into Canada and it is for this reason why CIC take such a long time making decisions on our cases and why background checks are so extensive. Innocent people end up being hurt and having to jump through many hoops because of these people. I will be watching with interest.

I thought you just had to turn up here !! There certainly aren't the same hoops to jump through anyway. I'll definately be watching it.

Ive read a few threads that some people have been requested fingerprints? Is this part of the process for all - London office and further?

It can be part of the process, DNA testing can also be requested in some cases.

Could this be requested at anytime? And thanks for a speedy reply.

I went today to collect my passport for visit visa, they stamped it for 9 months. My pr case is still in process but I m traveling to Canada in two weeks time. I asked tht if during visit to Canada I receive letter of ppr then can I post my passport to London rather than traveling back to London , they said I can do tht then they will post my ppt back to me n I ve to go outside da Canada in order to land which I ve already planned.

I just thought to share it , as it might be help to someone

Congrats, Mike and thanks for letting us know yoru timeline.

That took very long and you are in the UK. Gosh!
I am still waiting for mine here in Canada, the 5th week now, so being patient and hoping to get it back soon.

Have safe journey and nice landing!

I am still waiting for mine, its been over 5 weeks now. On a positive note I email London and they said they are still processing it!

is everyone asleep at London or something? No one has heard anything for like over a month now. Not only do you have to wait aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaages for them to even look at ur file you then have to wait aaaaaaaaaaages to get ur passport back so u can actually get on with your life ???

Mine has been in London 3 weeks today, but I did get an email from them on Tuesday, needed to pay some import fees hmmmmm. So at least I know something is happening. And now I have a human on the inside I can email!

Will i get an PPR email or a letter from London? I put my email address on the application form but didnt u say they only emailed you because you emailed them an inquiry b4 u got ur PPR?

I said that I submitted an email enquiry and by doing so I authorised them to contact me via email. You have to agree to this before you can submit the email.
I dont think it means that if you dont email them you only get regular mail. I guess it depends on the IO processing your file.
I think part of me only emailed them so they would communicate with me that way.

ok well i want them to too what should i ask lol?

I asked about getting a new passport in my married name before the PPR and how would this affect the processing of my application. They replied a few days later saying it was fine etc, just to send them a scanned copy of new bio page.
I think its worth it. I think it speeds things up by at least a week which doesnt sound a lot, but we so know a week is everything!!!
Good luck

Did you watch it? It was very interesting to see the darker side, but it seems the British Immigration Authorities are pretty weak. If we submitted a Marriage Licence, 15 photo's clearly taken on the same day, the Canadian high commission would throw it back to us!

How are you, is life wonderful??
