MandP surely they have not had their PPR for people in december, us November folks have only just started getting our PPRs during the last two weeks. If you have had your AOR then it is a waiting game, it shouldnt be too much longer for you. They received our file on Dec 9th and we got PPR on first week of March.
Ive only ever been able to log on as my sponsor
I went as a visitor to canada before my PPR came through for 2 6 month stays, i did however have to have a return ticket..

Thanks for your advice. Two of the four of us through London in December have already had their PPR's, Unfortunatley I am one of the unlucky two!

Hey MandP,
I replied to your questions in the december post.

1) Unfortunately everyone's time is different I really do think that it depends on the IO that picks up the case.

2) I was never able to log into Ecas using my own details even after I received PPR.

3) I would suggest you get a return ticket, as I was sent to secondary immigration, when I travelled to Canada prior to getting my visa, even though I took with my my PPR letter. I needed to show that I would be going back to UK, although I was allowed a 6 months visitors visa going through Calgary airport. I also know that the only time my husband travelled to Canada from UK on a one way ticket they checked that he had a Canadian passport and wasn't British prior to him getting on the plane.

Hi All

A couple of questions, not sure if anyone will be able to help??

1) Why has almost everyone applying through London in December heard sometime ago and for me there has been no change!!??!

2) Should I be able to log into Ecas using my (the applicants) details? currently I only seem to be able to access using my girlfriends (the sponsors) details.

3) where would I stand If I decided to go to Canada before I got my PPR and Visa? what would be the chance of them allowing me in if I had only booked a one way flight?

Any help on this would be much appreciated. She is starting to go mental!!!!

Apologies to anyone also reading the December thread as I have also posted the same thing there!!

Hi everyone

I still waiting for my ppr. My case was transferred to London on 26 nov. Does any one have an idea how long further it will take? Also I am going to collect my visit visa from London embassy next week as I am traveling to Canada start of April . I am really getting worried as people from dec are getting their letters. I know everyone case is different. Bit still how long further they will take?

Hi Naz,

As said before, I think we are in a similar boat. They have had mine since 17th November and am still waiting to hear.

I'm trying not to panic yet for a couple of reasons: they say the AVERAGE time is 6 months and we are barely up to 4 months yet. Plus looking at the case tracker on the link below, our timelines seem pretty typical. Admittedly we should be hearing something soon, but I guess with ours we also need to consider Christmas and all the snow problems in December.

Anyway, just though I'd pass on, what's keeping me calm and hopefully we'll hear something soon.

Hi MandP

I received an e-mail from London requesting that I provide them with a NZ Police Cert, and it was only at that point that I got my immigration file number (F*********) which enabled me to login to ECAS under my own name. Up until then I'd always had to use my wife's (sponsor) Client ID and details to get in to ECAS (even though London had started processing the application).

I got confirmation from Sydney that they were sending the Police Cert details to London about 10 days ago, but have no other progress to report ::), so I might e-mail London next week to see if they've received it.

Hi all,

So my passport is finally back in Canada although I am still waiting for it to be delivered. It is sitting in a sorting office in Mississauga at the moment but it should be with me by Wednesday fingers crossed. London received my passport on 21st February so it has taken over 4 weeks to get back to me. In hindsight I would have flown back to London and handed it in but you live and learn. But for those of you that are mailing your passport from Canada I strongly urge you to get it mailed to a friend in the UK and get them to Fedex it back.

Anyway once I get my passport back I need to flag pole. Luckily I am a 45 minute drive from Niagara, so I plan to do a late night trip. Does anyone have any advice on the best place to do this? ie which bridge/crossing point? Secondly I'm trying to find out the best way to do it, I hear that the US border guards will give you some sort of refusal if you just flag pole, does this cause problems when you try to cross at a later date? Being a brit I know we are part of the visa waiver program but if you get refused when you flag pole does this mean I will have to get a vistor visa everytime I try to go to the US? I only ask because I have got into hockey since I have been here and I will probably cross quite a few times a year to catch some games.

Cheers

Congrats d-tilley...at least it's on its way! We've been waiting 5 weeks as of today and still no sign of it and no replies to any of our emails.

well according to the canadapost tracking system it is out for delivery today, so hopefully it is waiting there when I get home :)

Thats strange that they didn't reply to your email. It took them about 3 days to respond to mine but they gave me the tracking number. The only thing I will add though is that I have a very ill relative back in the UK and it looks like I may have to fly back within the next 2 weeks, so I did tell them about the situation, as I obviously can't fly without my passport. Maybe that was the only reason I got a response.

Thanks for the informtion on landing Baloo.

Congrats!! Are you in Canada? How do you know your passport in in a sorting office in Mississauga at the moment? Did you ask the London office? By email or phone?
London received my passport my passport on 21st February too, still waiting to get it back to me.
I hope I will get mine back soon.

I need to flagpole too somewhere at the border close to Toronto. I don`t know yet where. There is Rainbiw Bridge and I think another one near Forth Erie (I am not sure about that, have to check it out).

You answered me just before I wanted to ask you. :)
Thanks a lot

I can't believe it is taking London over 5 weeks to issue the visas. :o

No chance of any of us who are waiting getting a PPR if they are taking so long, they must have a big back log or something. They'll obviously want to clear the pile of passports before asking for more of them!

I know, 5 weeks is so long. Argh!!
I was hoping to have it back sometime this week but looks like it's gonna be another 2 at least!
Any word on your progress, what does ecas say today?
