Any news from LVO guys...? Our VO has been so lazy, its unbelievable!
Not had any responses myself from LVO. have sent a enquiry over 6 weeks back. I still haven't got a UCI or application number. Yet somehow I was told application made it to London.

Unless IRCC has totally got my application wrong. Sent in Feb. not had any kind of response.

At this point I am ready to get a family member to contact their MP to look into it. Too soon?

Could be they are awaiting a Birth Certificate. My wife was born in Pakistan and says she does not have a Birth Certificate. She does have a Nadra card (and a NICOP card).

How would we go about confirming with Nadra that no birth certificate is available, or how to get one while I we are in the UK?

Please post in the Pakistan thread, somebody will assist you regarding Birth certificate.

Hi,
Wondering why Ottawa office is much faster than London VO ? Why CIC does not balance the load ? Any idea

The Ottawa office is for processing US apps (typically). Because of the overload at some other VOs, they agreed to take on some cases to ease workload. It's not about splitting it up evenly.

The London VO is responsible for processing:
Channel Islands, Denmark, Falkland Islands (Malvinas), Faroe Islands, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Ireland, Isle of Man, Norway, Sweden, Scotland, United Kingdom, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Yemen, Pakistan.

I am not sure what the criteria is for apps that go to Ottawa. We are a straightforward Outland Irish app and my husband has been in Canada for the better part of nine years so our lawyers felt like it might go to Ottawa but it did not, it went to London, so who knows.

No one will be able to say for sure, but my guesses:
1) The local office is always going to have more staff than the overseas office
2) As a result of Ottawa being a bigger office, staff can be further split into specific streams/routes etc... Ottawa does also process spousal applications for other countries as well (US at a minimum, not sure about others)
3) I *think* there are some issues around what can be done inside vs outside a country, but I'm not certain about that
4) Ottawa taking on cases WAS to help balance the workload when London started taking on the applications from Islamabad, which has a ~3 year backlog. For awhile Mississauga also took applications, but that only lasted about a year or so.
Could be any, none, or a combination of the above.
