Hi Everyone,
My husband's case is still in process, I was approved as a sponsor on July 15th and papers were sent to Ottawa...he will be coming Oct 27th. as a visitor to stay and wait for PR here (has a january return ticket, hopefully Ottawa will make decision by then). My question is: If I am his representative, the COPR will be mailed to me in Canada or to his address in the UK? If it is mailed to him, how can I change his address to my address? How early should I do it? I really would not want the COPR to get lost

Hi everyone! I hope you're all well.

I just had a look at the Pakistan via London thread, and it looks like things are starting to move again at LVO: december applicants have started to get some doc requests and remed requests! Good news for everyone being processed in London.

That is good news! On our thread it looks like a London applicant was approved who applied in January. First one of 2016 if it's correct. Haven't seen much movement from November onwards on our end but at least there's evidence of LVO doing something again.

Current status: sponsor approved 12th April 2016 and application is being processed at the LVO.

I'm the applicant and sent a case specific query on the 22nd August 2016 to change my current address to another UK address. I also sent another case specific query as my medical will expire on the 26th September 2016.

I received the following response regarding my meds on the 30th August:

Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

We have forwarded the information you provided to the responsible office. They will contact you only if they require further information.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada

I haven't received any response with the change of address and haven't heard anything with regards to my medical to say it has been extended etc.

Obviously, I do not want to keep bugging them but should I email them for an update? Is there a way to contact LVO directly regarding the above? Or should I just await an update.

Also, as my sponsor is also the representative. Would she receive all correspondence from my application?

Any help or guidance will be very much appreciated.

I did the same thing. After 30 days of no response or updates to my ecas I emailed the following:
london-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca


Got an email within a week and my ecas updated another few days after that.

Sorry for being a nab and probably asking what's been asked a million times, but how long does the London office take on average right now from when the application is forwarded to their office? I seem to recall reading it was 6 months, though Immigration's site lists about 17 months o.o. Which is more correct/common at this point? Since the time is constantly changing.

Take a look at the spreadsheet link in my signature line and see for yourself. Seems to be around 7 - 8 months following sponsor approval for straightforward applications - non visa exempt seem to take longer.

Hi Jayne! It's funny how we got SA on the same day, "In Process" on ECAS on the same day and now our background checks update on the same day! Now let's hope for the best.

Now that his background checks have started, should we expect LVO to request new police certificates because they date back to more than 6 months? Should we order both again just in case, or is it better to wait until they request them (or in case they never do!).

As long as the certificates are valid when you apply, you should be fine. They rarely re-request unless your application has taken a really long time. Not sure how long the French one takes, but the UK one is pretty quick and I think you can order it rush anyway (can't remember). So just sit tight and wait and see. (You can have a look at the Notes column of the spreadsheet to see who has had new certificates requested; you'll find it's not many!)
