Hi, I'm after some advice about medical cover for the first 3 months in NS.. Would I need to get separate cover or would travel insurance suffice? If I need a separate plan, can anyone recommend a company and do I have to apply after we arrive or can I arrange it before we land? I'm confused.

Thanks

Hey,

Anyone land around January 10th and still waiting on their PR card?

I am and starting to get worried cause I fly to the UK on April 16th and return April 24th. I thought there was no chance it would not be here by April 16th.

So crazy they are basically saying you can't fly back in to the country for months.
I'm going to submit a case specific inquiry today and try and get through on the phone but not sure where to contact.

Thanks in advance for any advice.
CC

Husband landed Dec 28th and no Pr card as of yet .

You need separate insurance because you aren't a visitor, you have landed and are a resident living in the country, so travel insurance won't cover you. I know a ton of people, myself included, that used CanadaSure - http://canadasure.com/

Called them Monday, have to send in new photos. Did yesterday, will get there tomorrow. They've changed the spec of the photos to be more like passport ones. They sent me an e-mail after the call with a form and the photo spec.

I'm quite angry as it was 12 weeks since I landed and they were only "about" to send me a letter to tell me to send in new photos. If the processing time is currently 52 days, why after that period was I not contacted to send in new photos? Aside from the fact that they have moved the goal posts and changed the spec of the photos and not just let people who sent in photos a while ago from being excepted.

I have no choice but to cancel my trip to the UK as the risk of not being allowed to travel is too great.

Thanks CIC.

There is no need to cancel your trip. As the mandatory requirement for an eTA has been delayed, you will be fine returning to Canada on your visa-exempt passport. Don't inform the airline of your PR status.

Can I be added to the London spreadsheet please.

App. Received today: April 6th 2016

Need to also know where you are located, closest city is fine if you don't want to be too specific! Once you post that I or one of the other editors will add you in. :)

I know where your coming from , honestly when they sent our corp out you would have thought they would have asked for new photos then. My husband doesn't have any plans to travel at the moment so i'm not so worried, but if any thing happens then we just have to take that chance and hope for the best .

and your COPR can be used for entry when you get to Canada. For visa exempt applicants the PR card isn't that essential for traveling.
