Hi

We submitted our application in December as outbound from London. We will move to Canada in May and it’s highly unlikely we’ll have a decision made by then.

If we move to Canada before the visa decision and change our address to Canada can i apply for a work permit during this time?

I think i have an employment offer and i’m worried that ii will lose the job if i have to wait for CIC to process my application.

Does anyone know how i can get a work permit as an outbound applicant? There must be some way possible...

Thanks

there is no way possible, short of cancelling your outland application and re-applying inland - if that pilot program is still running. and no, if you applied in December, it's almost guaranteed your application won't be processed by May. sorry to be the bearer of bad news :(

So our MP has had a response. Success

The response was: we received application, we completed sponsor processing, we haven't started processing medical, police certificates etc. Resounding fail.

It's been over 18 months since we applied now, doesn't feel like we are ever going to get this visa!!

have you ordered your notes to see what the hold-up is? 18 months is ridiculous to not even have started processing medical and security!!

Tell me about it. Yes we ordered notes 29 days ago, no reply yet, just waiting for the 30 day processing time before we chase them up. I'm very curious to see what's in the notes

good luck - hope you get some answers, at least.

so just spoke to an agent to inquire about my husbands PR card. first of all she wasnt able to provide me any info which I understand as I am not a representative for my husband.

however, she mentioned that I wouldnt be able to travel back home with my husbands PR card. The best option is to apply for PRTD. If border agents sees it with me then it can be an issue. I am sure it is BS because CIC website clearly says that you can leave the country without PR card, but you will need it (or PRTD) to enter back.

Why cant I put it in my purse to take it back to him. ??? ??? :o

Hello,

just received my csq and although midi states that a copy has been forwarded to lvo, I've read many times around the forum that lvo ends up requesting a copy of it from the applicant/sponsor. My question is do I send them a scanned copy via CSE or by email?

Thank you.

Well got PPR today.. Decision Made was on 9th Feb, 2016 and Passport Request on 16th Feb 2016.
Hope everyone gets their PPR soon. Aameen.

I waited for 6 weeks with nothing and no reply to any message so I emailed the LVO Operations Manager and I got a reply straight away and it was sent out the next day.

Just been reading back the last pages of this thread and there's all this talk of PR cards etc. I assume that if I enter canada before March 15th with only a Passport and a COPR then thats ok right? Sorry if this seems stupid but I just need clarification. Thanks :)

Yes that's right. After that and you'll need either your PRC or PRTD. OK? ;D

Hello,

My husband and I are currently in the process of applying for his PR within Canada. He's a British citizen. We were wondering how long the applications have been taking on average from start to finish. Start being when we send off our completed application to Mississauga (sponsor & sponsored) and finish being when we received the OK for him to come over as a PR.

Would you suggest we consult with an immigration lawyer? Are they generally helpful with this process?

Thanks so much. :)
