Well... our COPR arrived today! Crying tears of joy. I can't believe we have finally got to the end of our 14 months of waiting. Thanks so much to everyone on this forum, Andrew, you have been a star!

We have until October 2016 to land, but hoping to be packed up by Spring. Best of luck everyone!

Not expecting anything but I just sent London the following

Hello,

I am inquiring about the status of my application for permanent residency via spousal sponsorship.

The last information I received from you was an email on November 9th saying that my file is being reviewed.

I would like to know why there are applications being approved which were received in Mississauga (and then sent to London after sponsor approval) in 2015.

I am a member of a forum where outland applicants publish their application timeline and there are people who applied in June 2015 who have been approved. I applied 9 months earlier than these people and I would like to know why they are approved before my application.

I appreciate any information you can give me.

Thank you,

Just wondering if you got a reply to this?

No reply at all. Since then they have ignored me, I think I'm in the naughty corner.

I sent them an email on Oct 25th and got a reply back on Dec 1st. They are not very brisk in replying.

Hi

i am new to this process. My husband is a Canadian living in London with me a British citizen and we are moving to his home in Vancouver Canada in Spring - hopefully. He has a job back there, i will go on tourist visa if needed.

We just had out lawyer check over all of our application and we have submitted our application to Mississauga. We are now sitting back and waiting for his application to sponsor to be approved.

I guess that will be in the new year. There are lots of conflicting stories of timeline. Is there anyone who has been in a similar position who can share advice on the timeline?

Rebecca

Hi Rebecca. I guess you can say that I was in the same position. I'm a Canadian living in London, married to my British wife and we are returning to Victoria. We have just had the ''All Go'' after 14 months of waiting. However, looking at the speed which has pickup recently, I would like to think that you won't have as long to wait as we did. Best advise...be patient and follow this thread. Loads of great people to help and share the experience. You can see everyone's timeline in the spreadsheet which can be found in the signature of some of the posts. This is your guide to where you sit.

As a British Citizen you will not need a visa. You automatically get 6 months in Canada. If you go to Canada before your paperwork is complete and your 6 months is nearing I believe that you can apply for an extension. Myself, well we decided to sit it out and not move to Canada until we had all of our paperwork in order. I didn't want the stress of being in Canada and not knowing if my wife would have to come back to the UK at any point while we waited for things to finish up.

Thanks princesstigger! We are so excited. But we now have our work cut out for us like selling up and getting everything in order. We were hoping to go before the start of the school year, but didn't make it. Now we may look to the Easter Holidays.

We're in the same situation. As soon as we get through Christmas we need to get the house on the market and get things sorted, I'm finding it quite daunting! Husband going to gofor quick trip at Easter to activate PR, but whole family will head out in the summer! Good luck to you and your family.

We received COPR on wednesday. We flagpoled today. Had to answer to questions of the USA officer for 10 minutes (finger prints and stuff) then they let us go back to Canada. Five minutes later my wife was PR.

I logged into forum after few days to check on both of you Taffy and Andrew.. hoping any of you would have received a good news....SIGH...anyways good luck to us.

I got a reply from SNF (CD) couple of months ago and now from SF (CD)

Thank you Mary, but still shows in progress. I ordered notes on Thursday.. see whats going on. They haven't even updated our address on ecas so i don't see much hope of getting DM before the year is out .

Hi all!

Just flagpoled at Rainbow Bridge (Niagara Falls) this morning and took less that 30 min. A few questions from the US officer and then they just showed us round to go back to the Canadian border. Didn't even need to get out of the car. Once at the Canadian border we were again asked a few questions and then asked to park and go into the office. They then processed my form while we were asked to sit and wait and 5-10 min later I was asked to sign my PR and that was it and off we went.

A huge thank you and an even bigger good luck to all of you still waiting. Couldn't have done it without you all.
