Just an update, we now have a second line under Permanent Residence stating:

2. We started processing x application on May 4, 2015

So earlier than we thought as it only changed to 'In Process' last week!

No, I have stated many times that visa offices are backdating your in process date to shortly after they received your application from Mississauga. In your case you got SA on 28th of April and then somewhere in between then and the 4th of May Ottawa received your application.

The person got DM in 9 months applied through London?

Looking at the last 10 approvals for London, (10 because that is how many have been approved this month so these should be currently based on the December 2014/January 2015 timeline you were quoted) only 3 were received in Mississauga during the period of December 2014 to January 2015, so not overly convincing in my opinion.

Yes this was through london. They are on a Facebook group that I am apart of. Maybe they just got lucky?

"In process" as of yesterday, LVO. Please can you update the spreadsheet, thanks.
(Not that it means anything, but hey, it's nice to see a different status lol!)

My "Permanent Residence Application Status" has also changed to "In Process" now (as of this morning). Still no new lines on the application status pages though, not even one about them sending my boyfriend the email about the sponsor approval. Not that it really matters. :)

Spreadsheet updated for you both

Is there any reason the immigration consultant would need a copy of the PR card front and back?

They have requested a copy from my spouse, and I find it a little odd.. Claim they need it to complete the file.

Andrew have they ever changed your address on ecas ?.. I know we received an email saying that the new address may not reflex on ecas, but i was hoping to see the change hoping they have touched my file.

Yes my address was changed shortly after I informed them I was back in Canada.

In other news we contacted our MP on Monday asking for an update as the last we heard from the MP's office was on September 8th saying a medical extension request would be made.

We were not told if it had been made or if it will happen in the future. We asked our MP for an update on that. We also asked why LVO is telling other applicants that they are processing applications received in Mississauga between December 2014 and January 2015, when ours was received in Mississauga on Sept 19th 2014.

I sent a case specific enquiry today with the same questions.

Taffy, i also informed LVO of change in my address from London to Canada. However ecas only changed home address but left mailing address as UK address. Contacted LVO again to inform them that Ecas hadnt changed mailing address. I got an email back saying changes have been noted on my file even though ecas may not reflect this.

Have ordered notes which should get here around thanksgiving time so will check for any developments and address changes.

We are the in the same boat Andrew. Last I heard from LVO was 2-3 weeks ago indicating that hubby's medical was sent for review whether an extension could be granted or not. We still haven't heard anything. :(

I would like to know what LVO's response is to your inquiry.

London responded to the request from the MP. No comment on why later applicants are being processed before earlier applicants. Here is the response from London.

No request for reassessment by medicals from the visa officer has transpired. Visa officers have 3 months from the expiry (15 months from when medicals were conducted) of a medical to request whether or not it can be extended – information not originally shared with me by LONDON.

Reassessment of medicals and validity will generally be done when the file is close to visa issuance. Ottawa informed me that criminality and background checks are still out and under review. At this time, no further information is needed by LONDON on the file and CIC recommended a follow up in 90 days.

FYI – in the event Andrew stays here for more than 6 months, Canadian criminality checks will need to be conducted as well.

End if message.

The thing is I was in Canada for more than 6 months from when I applied, so does that mean I need a Canadian criminality check? It was my understanding that CIC did their own Canadian criminality checks anyway. Maybe that's what they are referring to?

Spreadsheet updated. Just a reminder that it seems to be a new protocol where CIC put applications in process as soon as they are received in the visa office for stage 2 processing.

We will have to wait and see how long these applications take to get DM.

oh geez thats not good news. Our application was received in London on March 25th 2015 but we only saw it go to "in progress" this week when we checked, we check the status most weeks.

This is really interesting. Thanks for posting this Andrew. My wife's medicals expire tomorrow. I wasn't sure if I should be getting in touch to find out what is happening, but I may hang on a bit longer. As I'm still within the average time posted for the last 20 processed. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we will see some movement before the end of the year. It was great seeing 10 decisions made for the London office in Sept. Lets hope that keeps up.
