ecas shows "Decision Made" today :)

Congratulations... You have a lot to smile about now ;).All the best with your landing.

My application for visitor extension was approved today. (I was on an IEC but it ran out) it says application has been approved on cic. So that's a weight off my shoulders. It took 90 days and the current processing time is 133, so I was expecting to have to wait till November.

I don't see a letter in my.inbox telling me of they only gave me 6 months ( or less ) or If I was granted the year that I asked for. Do I have to wait for the visa in the post or do you think I can ring?

You receive a message in your MyCIC account saying it has been approved and then in a few days you will receive a new visitor record in the post.

I just got the message in my Inbox :D 1 Year! Hopefully that's all I will need... time will see.

Now I can try and persuade Alberta Health to give me my Health care back. I know with us only being common law that it might be a struggle but I'm going to try. Hate the idea of living without it for the next year.

Ummm so I just went and saved the letter to PDF for safe keeping and I realised that in my excitement I failed to notice that the date is 2017.. not 2016! I have till July 2017. My visa ran out July 2015.

I only asked for one year and they have given me two. I wonder if that's to do with the 29 month processing times that London has posted. Maybe they have reason to think the process will take over a year so they gave me two. Hopefully this isn't a bad omen lol

On a less confusing note -

Someone on one of the other groups that I am on just got decision made after 9ish months though. So that makes me more optimistic.

It seems like a lot of apps from DEC 2014 are being approved now. Which does line up with the correspondence that I received from London stating that they are currently working on Dec 2014/ January 2015 applications.

The person got DM in 9 months applied through London?

Looking at the last 10 approvals for London, (10 because that is how many have been approved this month so these should be currently based on the December 2014/January 2015 timeline you were quoted) only 3 were received in Mississauga during the period of December 2014 to January 2015, so not overly convincing in my opinion.

General update here, not sure if it matters for the spreadsheet or not!

Sent a CSE to London a week ago informing them of my medical's expiry on the 26/10, and also an updated address to my wife's house in Canada. ECAS hasn't change to reflect the address yet and I haven't heard back.

Entering Canada with my wife on 03/10 under Dual Intent (hopefully!) to wait out DM. Just gathering my documents that the FAQ lists to help at the border. Any tips from anyone?

I entered on September 2nd with dual intent. I had a copy of my sponsor approval, printout of my ECAS page, and a copy of my fee receipt. I was with my wife at the desk and I just said I was entering as a visitor, the immi officer asked are we doing sponsorship, I said yes, we applied a year ago and we are just waiting it out, he said be sure to remain in status, I said yes I know about extending my status as a visitor. He wished us luck!

Good to know! I've got all the paperwork printed, and have printed a bank statement for proof of funds for supporting myself too. We just came back from Greece a few days ago and the UK officer gave us lots of hassle trying to get back in. She was even asking us questions about my intentions of what I was going to be doing in Canada, even though she has nothing to do with that! Just put the nerves up me a little so I'm being prepared! Thanks for the advice as usual :)

Just checked our application today and (yipee) we are now "In Process" in London.

Can you update the spreadsheet for us?

hello

this forum (as many have noted) saves my sanity. many thanks to all those that share, it has helped me out answered many questions but mostly it feels better to suffer with others :)

may i please be added to the spreadsheet?

my application was received 29/06/2015
it was sent to Mississauga
eligibility to sponsor was met 01/09/2015
sent to London office
in process on ECAS 01/09/2015
married
we are currently taken residence in Spain

I have a couple of questions anyone can help?

does it matter to CIC if you have young children when choosing which applications to process first?

can we move to Canada at this point in our application?

also on 08/09/2015 we received a refund 36 pounds from CIC we don't know why or what for or if it means anything, thoughts?

thanks

Spreadsheet updated. Just a reminder that it seems to be a new protocol where CIC put applications in process as soon as they are received in the visa office for stage 2 processing.

We will have to wait and see how long these applications take to get DM.

I have added you to the spreadsheet.

Having children does not give you priority over applicants who do not have children.

Yes you can move to Canada, the principal applicant is visa exempt so no visa is needed to enter, you just need to satisfy the officer at the border/airport that you are just visiting. Bring proof that your application has been received such as your sponsor approval letter, printout of ECAS page, fee receipt, etc.

One reason for the refund is that you overpaid.

thanks andrew-brit for your answers

i don't think we overpaid but maybe, i was hoping it was some hint that in process was really in process

i gather they take your money first anyway

Just an update, we now have a second line under Permanent Residence stating:

2. We started processing x application on May 4, 2015

So earlier than we thought as it only changed to 'In Process' last week!
