"i just can't believe there are many people who conduct their long-distance relationships over the phone these days!"

We do!!! My husband has a phone card and rings me at least 3 times a day. We chat for an hour at a time, morning, evening and in the middle of the night (UK time), depending on our work shifts. We Skype every day too ♥♥♥♥♥♥

Couple of updates here:
went to "in Process" 22/08/15
Moved to Toronto 26/08/15
Remedical completed today - via emedical, so hoping for some quick movement :)

For those heading to Canada before COPR arrived, I found the landing process very easy. Went to passport control, when asked about reason for visit explained that i had PR in process and hoped it would be completed in next few months; told them i had a return ticket in november (they didn't even ask to see the e-ticket) and got a stamped through. Met up with my wife in baggage claim and she went through the processing of returning resident with B4 forms etc, no difficult questions as all the forms, photos etc were all prepared in advance.

Just waiting for the COPR now - which is feeling less like some kind of mythical unicorn!

sweet! :) do you find phone calls more convenient than skype? i only ask because, with the length of time our skype calls run, my husband and i would be flat broke if we were on the phone haha i wasn't meaning to imply phone calls were an inferior way of keeping in touch - just that i'm poor ;) so i'm incredibly thankful for free technology!

We use viber a lot. We txt and call via viber each other all day long and skype at night.

i'm not familiar with viber - do you get a bill or a log or anything from it that you can use to verify communication?

Yes you can. As long as you have data/wifi, you can make free calls and msg too.

Hey!

Same here, my husband and I we are the same way! We are always speaking to one another via Line App or texting through iMessages! I like free too hence no direct long distance calls always in data or wifi.

So what do i do, do I just print out our call logs and chat history fir the past year that we haven't been togather!!! Its like 300 pages just for the last 6 month! This is a bit silly to me ;(

Thanks for sharing this . My wife is coming in 2 months while her PR is in process too. My question is can she bring 2 luggages or will the border officers questioned her for that? She will have a return ticket to the UK as well.

My husband arrived today for a 6 month visit . He flew in with his cat and two suitcases . He had a return ticket and a letter from his employment saying his job was still open when he returns.

Hi, my hubby has a phone card and he buys credit on it, (I'm not sure where he bought it from or the name of it). A call to the UK, no matter how long the call lasts, only cost around 30 cents each time!!! I'll ask him for more details later. It's brilliant because it means I get to hear his voice every day. We even sit chatting on the phone, with the webcams on, watching football together at the weekend!! It's great! We're lucky that the time difference between NS and UK is only 4 hours.

I'll find out the details later for you WeeHippieElf :D

I write this being so excited for us and yet feeling so guilty for those of you who are still waiting, which seems so unbelievably unfair, but after going into process on Tuesday morning this week, we now are decision made!

I read the post about being 14 months to the day...you don't need flowers (although I think that would be the least CIC could do) you need a decision!

If you could kindly update the spreadsheet for us

prairiegirl, mhum, hila01, blondie2014, ErinH: Spreadsheet updated.

@blondie2014 when did your original medical expire? I ask because my medical expires in 2 days and it looks like I will be a couple of months before London gets to me.

@ErinH congrats, I am glad this process is nearly over!

For those who say that London processes applications in order, please explain why a December 2014 applicant just got DM before earlier 2014 applicants?

Please provide the following:
-Date application received in Mississauga
-Whether you applied as Married or Common-Law
-Date of sponsor approval
-Which office is processing Phase 2 of your application (will say on your sponsor approval letter/email)
-Date(s) of any other requests you've had
-Whether or not the principal applicant is non-visa exempt
-Current location of the principal applicant- closest major city is fine if you don't want to be too specific!

Finally @taffy I am glad your husband is here! I hope you get your visa before he returns to the UK!

Congratulations! That's fantastic news and I'm really happy for you ;D ;D ;D

It does seem very unfair that some applicants are getting DM ahead of the 'queue' though. I'm sorry for those still waiting... interested to know if any of you have made a complaint to CIC about this? If so, has there been a response?

I'm completely confused by time-frames, CIC and the whole process - and we've only just filed our app. So goodness only knows how you guys must be feeling right now :(

I am not really sure why people think it's unfair? if you look at the spread sheets over the years it is clearly not a first come first serve basis. I am sure there is a reason for it that nobody will ever know. Perhaps the Dec Applicants were put on a new employees desk and they are an eager beaver?

Nobody was getting their knickers in a bunch (publicly) when applications were going/staying in Mississauga in MARCH 2015 getting DM - it was luck of the draw - everyone was happy for everyone. People shouldn't feel guilty about posting their good news.

I am sorry, I do feel really bad for the people that have waited well over a year - we all picked a bad year to apply.
