The interview letter was dated 22/04.
The interview lasted about 40 mins, questions about the relationship were asked. The lady went through my application thoroughly. Eventually she said she was satisfied with my answers :) however i will require an updated police clearance.

Thanks, spreadsheet updated.

If you don't mind sharing, do you have any idea why an interview was requested; typically I have rarely seen British citizens with a straight forward case being called for an interview but again with CIC we never know how they actually reason! Would appreciate your thoughts on the reason for the interview.

I would have thought that anybody, irrespective of their nationality, could be invited for interview no matter how straight forward their application may be. The interview could have been random selection for quality purposes. It could have been for any other reason best known to cic.

Many thanks Superman Andrew!

CIC could invite anyone for interview irrespective of nationality, i believe It could have been a random selection or for any other reason best known to them. The visa officer confirmed that they have the right to request for face to face interview. The most important thing is to ensure you fully remember whatever you must have written on your application form etc

I see your point but I don't think CIC has sufficient resources in general to be doing the interviews for quality checks as they claim in their operating manuals etc... We all hear that usually when someone is called for an interview it is because there are some concerns in the application (short relationship, arranged marriage, marriage on the first meeting, bride and groom never met, past sponsorship history too close to the time of the current one etc....); i personally highly doubt it is random and to me interview is the last path to get satisfied about the genuineness of the relationship! Typically, you see certain nationalities get called for interviews more than others... Of course CIC will never admit nor officially advertise that! Generally people called for an interview have something in their file that raised a red flag.... That doesn't by any means imply that people that are interviewed are not in a genuine relationship, not at all! It's just that they unfortunately met a triage criteria at CIC to be called for an interview, that's all! I was just curious about the reason coz my belief is that there is always one and it's not just a quality check! CIC is not an organization that is at the level of performance where they can do quality checks.. They can barely process application let alone think about improving their service and doing quality checks :) just my thoughts!!

Sam_1985, you are right

This is a message for judester. They private messaged me saying they got a passport request but their inbox is full so I cannot reply to them.

Hi judester,

Thanks for the update, this is your decision made! Once you send in the documents requested CIC will then send out your COPR!

Your visa office is Mississauga, but you say the email came from London?

Also I have tried to respond to your other messages but your inbox is full.

Thanks,
Andrew

Hi Andrew,

Sorry, I didn't realize that my inbox was full, just cleared it out.

Yeah, The email came from Mississauga asking me to send the copies to the London office...although the email came from the Canadian office, the attached letter and documents were all headed with the London Office information... I'm wondering if it's something to do with the fact that I'm a UK citizen and they've just been lightening the load for the London office, so finalize it all through London. I'm not too sure, but I'll do whatever they ask and keep you posted :)

So how long does it take approx. to get the email from decision made in ecas?

For us it was around 2 weeks, but that is a rough figure as they kept telling us different dates that we were approved on.

Guys what are the chances of getting an interview call after receiving the remedical request? My ecas status changed to inprocess last week and at the same time I received my remedical request. They have also returned my original documents. I am from Pakistan and LVO is handling my case

lots of people are asked for do re medicals . No reason to think your will be required to have an interview. At this point you just have to sit back and hope for the best . Any communication from LVO at the moment is good.

For UK applications, not Pakistan, when the file has been transferred to the London office for final phase 2 processing, does anyone know after it lands there approx when they start reviewing the file?

Every application is different (even the visa exempt ones London processes). My file was transferred to LVO July 2014. From GCMS notes they started reviewing it November 2014 but ECAS didn't indicate "In Progress" until February 2015. I'm still waiting for DM.
