I have added you to the spreadsheet. Just out of curiosity was it relationship photos they requested on 12 Feb?

Hey Everyone.

Any chance someone can post the link to the document that requests status of application. Sorry I can't remember the proper name of it.

Cheers

Do you mean ECAS? If so click here

If you mean ordering your GCMS notes click here

Hi Andrew,

For the spreadsheet, in case it's helpful, my wife had her medicals done March 18th.

No, they asked 4 photos. Those we had submitted apparently did not meet their requirements.

Hi TdotFluffPot, I added you earlier today, welcome!

Hello All! I wanted to say 'Hi' to everyone and ask a few questions based on your experience.

I am sponsoring my British husband. His application was received on Oct 3, 2014 and the first stage (sponsorship approval) was passed on Nov 27, 2014. We're in London and trying to be patient about stage 2 but the Client Application Status is still showing as Application Received, not In Process. Is this normal after 5 months?

Also, we did not send his medical back in October since it's only valid for a year and we knew the application could take 11 months (at least that is what the processing times were listed as back then, it's since increased to ). Should we wait for them to ask for his medical? Could this be adding further delay?

Thank you in advance. Any guidance is greatly appreciated ;D

1. Yes this is normal. Some applicants stay at Application Received right up until their COPR. Remember that ECAS is updated after anything significant happens to your application. Also it is worth noting that ECAS relies on the visa office and the officer in charge of your application. The officer or visa office may not like to use that system, similar to how you ask to receive e-mail communication but they send you SA in snail mail.

I applied in September, got SA on October 31st and mine still says Application Received.

2. In my opinion you should have done your medical before applying and include it in the application. That is what the guide says to do. I understand that you thought it may expire before you get approval but CIC has the ability to extend the medical provided or ask you for a new one. If I were you I would do a medical now, send it in to your visa office, making sure to include a letter with as much info as possible (sponsor and applicant UCI, name, file number, etc etc) so they can link it to your file.

Andrew has already answered your questions, I'll just add a little bit more.

Completely normal. ECAS is notoriously unreliable. Basically, if it changes to reflect something, then you can assume that the change is accurate and reflects your application. However, just because it isn't changing doesn't mean nothing is happening.

In our case, our application reached London in April 2012. In June my husband got a call from CIC asking a few questions about our marriage. In July he received PPR, and in August COPR arrived in the post. ECAS just sat at "Application Received" that whole time - over 2 months. It changed to "Decision Made" four days *AFTER* we had COPR in hand.

So really, don't get stressed if ECAS doesn't change.

Also, we did not send his medical back in October since it's only valid for a year and we knew the application could take 11 months (at least that is what the processing times were listed as back then, it's since increased to ). No offense, but this was dumb. You basically sent an incomplete application. Go get your medical done NOW. Book in an appointment, get it done, and email CIC when it's done and include a scan of the receipt. The medical is included on the checklist for a reason, it's not optional. Sending an incomplete application can result in your application being rejected. It's rare, but it's happened. Get to a DMP now and do your medical! Don't worry about the expiry. CIC will either request you do a new one, or they'll choose to extend it. GO. NOW.
