I had a question for everyone.

I just received an email through from CPC Mississauga with an attachment asking me for 2 recent photos of myself, an updated information chart and a photo copy of passport. I received my SA through yesterday. This surely cant be my passport request already can it??

My MP received an email today saying that a decision was made regarding my case on Feb 9 and that'd I'd be notified in due course. No update on my ECAS, still says in process.
I'm terrified and my heart is racing at a million miles and hour, I'm so scared its going to be a negative decision.
It has now been 10 months that I've been separated from my partner, children and home in Canada, I really don't know how much more I can take...
Any ideas of how long it usually takes before I'll get notified of the decision?

I can understand your point, but isn't the applications filed from Islamabad and transferred to LVO still fall under Islamabad timeline.? (33 or 36 months), then why they updated the LVO timeline to this extent.?

No they fall under LVO not ISLAMABAD,, coz ISB only deals Afghan applicants..

At this point, the decision will reach you by post, so it could be 2-3 weeks before the post reaches you. If it's positive, and 99.99% it is (particularly if you've had no other requests), then you'll receive your COPR in the post.

Usually if it's going to be a negative decision, you are told pretty soon (because the person being sponsored is criminally inadmissible, the sponsor isn't eligible to BE a sponsor, etc - stuff that's black and white) or otherwise after a lot of opportunity to address the 'flags', so in those cases you would have had lots of requests for stuff like additional proof, additional documents, additional pictures, potentially a call for an interview, etc. So if after this time you haven't had any of those requests, then 99.9% chance that it's a positive decision. (No guarantees until you receive it in the post, though!)

So just keep an eye on the post. If you're in the UK it will be a signed-for package, so keep an eye out for a delivery notice as well. If you're in Canada it should make it straight to your mailbox, as it's not signed in Canada.

BTW, to everyone else saying that MPs can't get involved until 29 months... i HIGHLY doubt that MPs would decline to contact CIC if it's been a year or so and you are still waiting to hear something.

There is absolutely nothing stopping anyone from contacting their MP AT ANY POINT during the process to ask about their app. Some MPs (more specifically, the person in the MP's office that deals with CIC) won't contact CIC until the processing time has passed but many will send off an inquiry before. If the office were to tell someone to wait until the 29 months has passed, I'm sure that a formal complaint to the actual MP would clear that up quickly.

Ahhhh okay I understand now! If clears it up for me! I still want to apply outland since that's what I've been working on for months now and have my mind set on. We'll just have to see if any more info comes up over the next few days. Once again thank you for your time to explain everything

Shocking to see the 29 months processing time, but as a couple posts here have said, it makes sense with the ISB apps also taken into account. Mrs. Sweden,, we seem to have very similar timelines, my husband just completed his meds yesterday, and we too are looking to send off our application in a couple weeks time.

I'm currently in the UK on a spouse visa (expiring Jan 2016), and one of the things I have read through this forum in regards to proof of intent was that it might be worth stating info about when your visa is due to expire, hence your plans to move back to Canada. Now with it saying 29 months, it no longer seems relevant for me to state my visa expiry date. If we are waiting 11+ months, I will have to either move back to Canada without my husband or apply for an extension/apply for the next tier in my UK spouse Visa. If I state this in my proof of intent, I don't want them to think that I will not move back to Canada if I extend/apply for the next tier. I would hope they would understand my reason to do so, and that is to stay here with my husband. We unfortunately do not have a mortgage/property/job offers in Canada, but do have other proof such as letters from our parents/friends, significant savings in Canada and have written about our plans to look for work/property once we are in Canada.

Not sure if it is wise to bring up my UK visa or not now...any thoughts?

Shocking to see the 29 months processing time, but as a couple posts here have said, it makes sense with the ISB apps also taken into account. Nice to hear from someone who have pretty much the same timeline going on! My husband and I are still so unsure about what do do now that the situation has changed so badly. We are strongly considering an inland application instead, only problem is I dont know when I would be able to get an open workpermit, living off one paycheck for a long time isnt very fun

My husband is kinda in the same situation as you, he lives here in Sweden with me on a residence visa tied to me. it needs to be extended this fall. So thats also why Im considering applying inland instead. But we haven't brought up anything about his visa here as proof of intention to return to Canada. We have just stated that he lives here and intend to return as soon as my PR would approve, that together with letters from friends and family, email conversation between my husband and a collage he is planning on attending when we arrive, and like you we hsve written down our plans for when we arrive.

Like I said we are still unsure what to do, if we should actually risk it and send outland and having to wait for more than two years, or travel to Canada soon and apply inland with a chance of not beeing able to work for a long time

Ive tried to research alot today but everyone is saying different things and its hard to find information, and contacting anyone from CIC I guess wouldnt make a difference... correct me if Im wrong though. lol

VERY confused

Hi all,
This is my first time posting on this thread, I've been trying to make sense of everything that's been going on since I logged on to the CIC website this morning and noticed that the processing time for the London office has jumped to 29 months
I'm Irish currently living in Ireland and my husband is Canadian in Canada. We applied for sponsorship of spouse from outside Canada.

Application received at CIC Mississauga: 22 Oct 2014
Acknowledgment of receipt: I think 17 Jan 2015 (e-mail has disappeared from my inbox!!!)
Request for documents & further information: 19 Jan 2015
Spouse approval letter received: 10 Feb 2015

Now when I log on to the Client Application Status on the CIC website it says the following:
1. We received your application for permanent residence on October 22, 2014.
2. We started processing your application on January 28, 2015.
3. Medical results have been received.

(I completed a new medical on 30 January while visiting Canada because I was afraid the old one would run out and delay my application)
I haven't received anything sating that my application is being transferred to the London office, nor have I received any further communication from CIC.
I applied for PR from outside Canada but did state in my cover letter that I was planning on moving to Canada in May 2015.

Can anyone help me shed some light on what's going on at this point?? Does "we started processing your information on Jan 28" mean that CIC Mississauga is doing it? Because I know they must have started processing it before that because I got request for documents on Jan 19th! Is my application going to be processed in London or Mississauga? or WHERE is my application now??

I'm very stressed out and confused and if anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it!

Your sponsor approval letter would say where your application is being sent to. Where does it say? This will be in the form of:

Should you need to submit additional information or make any further enquiries regarding the Application for Permanent Residence for your relative(s), you may contact the visa office by e-mail,fax, or in writing as follows:

London Address or Mississauga address or Ottawa address

It sounds like your application is in progress based on the "we started processing your application on January 28th, 2015".

Even though they requested documents from you it does not necessarily mean Mississauga is processing your application, it depends on what documents they requested. Mississauga checks that you have supplied all valid, filled out forms, etc, even applicant forms.

Thanks for the reply, in my panic this morning I didn't read it properly - the date on the letter is Jan 22nd (even though it only arrived last week) - it says "application will be retained for further processing at..." and the address is CIC Mississauga; does that mean it will stay in Mississauga for complete processing, or will they send it to London at some point? The processing time on the website only quotes the time for INSIDE Canada applications which is 8 months. But it also says processing of sponsor evaluation takes 17 months and mine was much shorter than that..

your application is not going to be processed as an inland application, so the times you are quoting are not relavant to your application. mississauga is holding some outland applications that are seen as "noncomplicated" for quicker processing. if the APPLICANT'S ECAS is saying the application started processing, then that is very good news. ecas wouldn't change to in process until the application is actually picked up and being processed. usually the applications held in mississauga have seen a 3-4 month processing - from the day the application was received. this is a new proceedure for CIC, so the information will not be available online.

We are still going to work ahead as planned and apply outland. Guess we just have to hope for the best! And also re-considering adding info about my UK visa in the application.

For those considering inland instead of outland because of this processing time increase, don't make that mistake.

I will draw your attention to the statement at the top of the processing times page: The times are based on how long it took to process 80 percent of all cases between January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2014.

That means that this is NOT a "new processing time" that is just starting now. CIC is saying that for 2014, the 80% processing time was actually 29 months, not 11 months as was posted for most of the year. Expect apps to continue to average the same time that they did in 2014, which you can see in the spreadsheet.

As has been said, it's the apps transferred from Islamabad that has caused this increase and it is not indicative of the straightforward visa-exempt apps that go through London.

Also, keep in mind that there is a good chance of new apps being retained in Mississauga or sent to Ottawa instead of going to London.
