Regarding all of the talk about the increase, while it is almost definitely due to LVO processing Islamabad cases it still means than a non-Islamabad applicant going through London cannot chase up their application until 29 months has elapsed. So any applicants sitting at 10 months now (and that is 10 months for stage 2) have been waiting about a year and now may have to wait another 1.5 years before they can enquire about their application. This is a kick in the teeth.

It would have been better if they split the processing time, listing the time for Islamabad applications and direct to London applications because now all new applicants will rightfully consider applying inland, which is something that CIC actually advises you against and suggests applying outland for faster processing.

This is my problem with the increase of processing times also. My application is currently at 6 months with London, but I am unable to contact an MP for a further 23 months? What if my application is misplaced or lost in the system? They would not answer my replies until January 2017 and the 29 months has elapsed. This is just grossly unfair and wrong. It seemed to be pot luck at the time I applied whether an application was kept in Canada or sent to London, unfortunately mine went to London. Doing it again I would apply Inland, at least I would be with my wife and stepson and we wouldn't have to endure this alone in different countries.

I posted this on BritishExpats, I'll just paste it here.

The London posted time will not take into account applications held in Mississauga and Ottawa.

I agree, the timeline makes it useless... however, I have a feeling that they were getting inundated by Islamabad applicants with the posted processing time at 11 months. The website clearly says not to contact them until you've passed the processing time... but Islamabad applications will certainly be longer than that. Applications started to be transferred around a year ago, so I'll bet you that those applicants were simply ramming CIC with requests for updates...

So my advice is to just stay calm. I'm honestly quite surprised that they didn't update the processing time earlier. We'll use the spreadsheet as an estimate on how long "normal" applications take, and we'll go from there.

Everyone just calm the f* down. :P

Outlandshould be your option..LVO will process the cases in 12 months if not 7-8 months as was the case earlier..29 months is becuase of their already LOG accumulated becoz 100s of file transfeered to LVO from ISB in mid. 2013 and ealry 2014. So they cleared that most of the files, however when the Computer calcualted the avg. it has to be higer than 11 months coz those files were transferred in 2013 and 2012...

I believe direct files to LVO doesnot take more than 1 year , you can see the SPREADSHEET and analyze ur self.....hope it clarifies alot of anxieties....

Thank you shy_guy for making sense of it all. My heart was panicking ..

I understand why the processing times are showing as so high, but it doesn't change the fact we have effectively lost the option to contact our MP, with regards to our case.

Hopefully for direct to London applicants the spreadsheet average is more of an indicator, but you have to be sympathetic for the people who looked at the processing time for London and thought 'oh 11 months, we can do that'.

Who will think that now, especially of those who do not know about this site, BE, etc?

I def understand your thought, But for new applicants like myself, who is about to send off their application there is no way of knowing that your application will be held in Mississauga or Ottawa, that's only something to hope for.

Have you heard anything ANdrew? I pray for us both :)

Not a thing, I was thinking May time as that would be 8 months but who knows now! I will let you know in 2 years!

Hi all

Finally got my SA today, and will be held in Mississauga. Please can you update the spreadsheet

Here's hoping Mississauga keeps up with its former pace, and good luck with everyone that is in London, I'm sure it is a worst case scenario to prevent people emailing when it gets close to the timeline

Spreadsheet updated.

Must say it does take the wind out of my sails knowing I have no recourse until 29 months has passed.

I can understand your point, but isn't the applications filed from Islamabad and transferred to LVO still fall under Islamabad timeline.? (33 or 36 months), then why they updated the LVO timeline to this extent.?
