If you want to be added to the spreadsheet in my signature, which has way more data on it, then I need:
-Date application received in Mississauga
21-0ct 2014
-Whether you applied as Married or Common-Law
m
-Date of sponsor approval
15 jan 2015
-Which office is processing Phase 2 of your application (will say on your sponsor approval letter/email)
London
-Date(s) of any other requests you've had
no
-Whether or not the principal applicant is non-visa exempt
non visa exempt
-Current location of the principal applicant- closest major city is fine if you don't want to be too specific!
Fsd, Pakistan

Updated, thanks.

Presumably "Fsd, Pakistan" is Faisalabad?

Just remember not everyone here knows those sorts of abbreviations, particularly in a thread like this where most of the posters are Canadian or British. :) I worked it out only because I've seen the city posted by a handful of others who have been added to the spreadsheet. :) No matter, got there in the end!

People who are updating the spreadsheet for London visa office, do you guys have a rough idea as to what month they are processing the files for right now. I wasn't able to get an idea from looking at it. Is it May or June 2014 files they are working on right now.

Also I had asked this question in another thread and was just going let you guys know to in case it happens to someone else. So I still have not received an SA letter but my Ecas says decision made and a letter was mailed to you since mid January 2015. I then called the call centre agents and was advised by the call centre guys that I was approved and file was transferred and that my SA was coming in mail. But I called them yesterday again because I never received the SA by mail yet and they said they didn't mail me the SA they had emailed it to me but I never got anything in email since then. So what's your guys advise that I should not worry about and go by what my ecas says and what the call centre agents said, but I have nothing in writing.

Also if the file has been transferred, when can I even expect to find out that the file has reached LVO. Thanks

I have added you to the spreadsheet. I put 'Application Received in Mississauga' as December 17th. Let us know if that is correct.

No idea. Files get sent to London after sponsor approval, and broadly are processed in order of receipt but there's WAY more variance, hence CIC doesn't publish that date... it's very much a case by case basis.

If you provided an email address,it would have been emailed to the SPONSOR, not to the applicant. Check spam and junk folders, it's been known to go in there as well. Unlikely you will receive anything by mail. Drop them a message via the case-specific enquiry form on their website or send them an email if you want something in writing. (Don't ask me ot look up the addresses, both are in the guide.)

Also if the file has been transferred, when can I even expect to find out that the file has reached LVO. Thanks

You won't find out.

If you are visa exempt then most likely they will just send you the COPR form (which you use to land as a PR), there will be no need to request your passport to insert the COPR directly.

How do you know if you are Visa exempt? My husband is British citizen by birth...

If you exempt, should you expect not to have to send your passport in? Or is this another case-by-case basis?

Cheers!

You are visa-exempt if you do not require a visa to visit Canada... British Citizens do not require a visa, and thus are visa-exempt. Indian nationals, for example, are non-visa-exempt, as they DO require a visa to visit Canada.

Everything is a case-by-case basis, but in about 99% of cases, if the applicant is visa-exempt, like your husband, they will either not be asked for their psasport at all, or they will just be asked to send colour copies of all passport pages. (My British husband had this request.) It's impossible to say if you'll be asked or not, but there is a 99% chance you will not have to send in the physical passport.

GREAT NEWS, CONGRATS!!!

So with landing, basically they are saying "can you show up at the Canadian border by the 13th". You can go to the border, land, and turn around and leave on the next flight, and that is fine. No problem there. So if you can do that, that would be easiest. So yes, you can return to finish your studies and move after that.

(When my husband and I landed, we landed 4 days before his medical/COPR expired, stayed for two weeks over Christmas, came back for a visit for two weeks in June 2013, told CBSA we were just visiting and not yet taking up residency, and then moved over properly in September 2013. We lived in the UK in the interim.)

So if you can land by the 13th then that's good. If you can't, write back and tell them when you can land. They'll either choose to extend your medical to the date you give them, or they'll ask you to do another medical entirely.

I'd suggest landing by the 13th if you are able to do so.

Congrats again!
