As your partner is Hungarian, there is also the possibility that the app will be sent to his home country VO, Vienna; this is especially likely if he hasn't been in the UK for very long. I believe that Vienna is averaging around a year right now.

Oh no. Well he's been living in UK for 5.5 years.
I really hope that could be long enough? (Fingers crossed)

No one can really say. Up until just a few months ago, applicants could request which VO (based on nationality or residency) they wanted their app to go to and for the most part, CIC followed that request. There hasn't really been enough apps since that change to be able to see whether CIC is leaning towards nationality or residency.

When you apply Outland the sponsor has to show proof that they will move back to Canada when PR is granted. Unfortunately we didn't put enough in. We plan on getting friends/family to write letters, we have email correspondence with a real estate agent, a new shiny canadian passport for my daughter and my wife's bank account details with CIBC...not sure why I didn't include all this in the first place!

She will need to show she is residing in Canada, so having a job, mortgage, lease etc will be helpful. It's a lot easier if she's already there!

They don't require proof of intent to move to Canada from the applicant.

Oh i see!! so this basically require proof of intent to move if both sponsor and applicant live outside canada?? but if my wife lives there and she is working there as well, then i guess it's not applicable for me?

Another question, Checked my Ecas today and its still showing my Application is "In Process"??

`You know what i am going ask........ have a guess lol?

thanks all and good luck to everyone

No as Canuck said its just the sponsor that needs to show proof of intent, and that's what the email I received asked for.

I'm afraid nobody can tell you how long it will be unfortunately!

Got the IM-1 visa! I sent my passport on January 14 to the VAC in London, as I am currently outside the UK, it arrived to the VAC and got dispatched to the Visa Office on January 16. I was expecting the processing to take much longer, but got the OK on January 20! Thank you all for the support!
