I went 'in process' on the 24th September and got my Decision Made today. You might not have that long to wait either.

Woohoo! Just checked Ecas and my status has changed to 'In Process'. Is says they started processing my application on September 30, 2014. Delighted to have some progress on my file after logging in 3 times every day! Ha!

How long do files typically stay in process before a decision is made? I sent a complete application.

Have a look at the spreadsheet, there's a column for In Process, and a column for Decision Made. For some it's a matter of days, for some it's a month or two. Fingers crossed it's the former!

As for your girlfriend picking it up, she should be able to if she has a piece of your ID... a credit card or something should be good enough. No guarantees, but she can at least try

I ordered my GCMS notes August 28th, received them September 29th. My medical results had expired so I emailed October 1st to ask if they could be extended or if I should get them updated. On October 3rd I got a response requesting me to update my medical within 60 days. Coincidence that I went "In Process" on the 2nd?? I was hoping that making contact would prompt them to

Good news! I'm in the same boat as you. When did your medical expire? Do you have to go do a new one now then or is it fine?

Eventually today LVO sent an email to me for an extra document. My application status went to "In Process" from 22nd of August. Since I knew they are going to request the document I sent it in advance
and it was delivered this morning. In the email it is said:

"Please allow four months for us to review incoming correspondence. All documents submitted in support of your application are subject to verification with the issuing authority."

Should I really wait another four month?! Has anyone got the same message in the email for submitting extra document before?!

On to the longer wait. Our application was kept in Mississauga.

But they asked you after two months your file transferred to London. Mine has been there for 9 months and waiting for another four months is ridiculous.

The four months thing is a canned response. It may or may not be that long. So don't get hung up on that.

As for it being ridiculous, as it's been pointed out before, processing in London right now is quoted at 11 months. That means 80% of applications are processed within 11 months of them arriving on London. Yours arrived in London probably mid-January. You're at about 9 months. You are also non-visa exempt, which almost certainly means your application is going to be on the longer side of average.

You can look at the spreadsheet to get this information. The Notes column has details of what documents were requested. The spreadsheet is there to answer these sorts of questions, please use it!
